Sheriff's Detention Officer  (Full Time)

DUTIES: Maintaining order and supervising inmates in the DeKalb County Jail. This includes, but is not limited to: maintaining records, administering fingerprints, searching prisoners, issuing clothing and assigning quarters, inspecting prisoners' quarters to detect possession of any unauthorized objects, supervising inmates'? cleaning activities, supervising the feeding of inmates, and supervising the operation of the jail laundry.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or GED from an Accredited Agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Must beeighteen (18) years of age or older. Possess a valid driver's license upon completion of pre-employment application, but a Georgia driver's license upon accepting a Conditional Offer of Employment. Must be a U.S. citizen. Must not have any Felony or Domestic Violence conviction(s) or any open charges. Must not show a pattern of multiple misdemeanors.

Employees are required to begin their county employment at the minimum salary specified for the class.
