PROGRAM

The Vista Hill Learning Assistance Center Mental Health Contract team of therapists, behavioral rehabilitation staff, and psychiatrists provide comprehensive treatment and work in a seamless and integrated manner with teachers, school counselors and administrators within the assigned school district. Clinical staff address school related issues and help students succeed with academics, social interactions, and improve family relationships.

POSITION

The Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist is a mental health professional who works under the supervision of the Program Manager and coordinates clinical care with the program therapist. The Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist provides linkage and consultation as well as direct services to a caseload of clients. The primary focus areas of direct service include case management, resource support, behavioral intervention plan development and implementation. The MHRS works with clients, teachers, and family members to provide behavioral rehabilitation, education, and training. The MHRS maintains client charts, develops service plans, case synopsis, completes assessments and program outcomes, and writes progress reports. The MHRS collaborates with programs and agencies such as schools, probation Child Welfare, and community agencies, and utilizes them as part of the multidisciplinary team. Examples of tasks include:

· Conducts child/youth and family focused, strength-based assessments, within the context of a local school/home/community service plan.

· Develops client plan goals and objectives, in coordination with the therapist, to address the client’s needs for rehabilitation and case management services, while developing an appropriate transition plan.

· Implements behavior intervention plans in the school, home, and community setting. Provides support and training to parents and teachers.

· Conducts regular case conferences with therapist, teachers, and family members in order to effectively coordinate care and efficiently manage services.

· Provide education and rehabilitation groups as needed to broaden the scope and range of services and ensure that client and family needs are met.

REQUIREMENTS

· B.A. in Social Sciences or related field candidate: 1-2 years’ experience in providing behavioral health programming/education groups and working with high risk youth/families. Associate’s degree with 4 years’ experience.

· Must have experience working in school-based programs, school-based mental health/mental health clinic, day treatment facility or other behavioral health setting.

· Demonstrate ability to be friendly and engaging with clients, the team, and public as a professional representative of the organization.

· Bilingual English / Spanish required!

· Ability to pass a background check, TB test, and drug screen.

HOURS

Full-time, Monday – Friday 8am.

PAY

Starting Rate: $20.00/hour

This is a starting rate and may be adjusted up based on education and experience.

Current Vista Hill employees in this job title for 2024 are paid $20.00 - $23.00.
