+ Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in a human services or related field plus 3 years of experience in the area of autism spectrum disorder or other developmental disabilities required; OR Associate degree plus 5 years of experience as noted above required.
Prior experience working with the individuals aged 5-21 with developmental disabilities required.
Must have knowledge of DDA and Maryland COMAR regulations.
+ Key Responsibilities
Serve as source of information and clarification as to regulatory guidelines and expectations for all programs.
Participate in or perform internal audits and review processes throughout program areas
Review practices on a periodic basis to assure compliance with regulations and advise leadership of issues and possible solutions.
Inform Operations Director, Executive Director, and Human Resources Director of situations and pertinent information.
Assist with planning, executing and recovery processes for Crisis Management drills and exercises
Participate in trend analysis and outlier identification when data is received from programs, reviews, and/or audits
Assist in developing solutions for internal stakeholders to mitigate identified weaknesses
Review all significant incidents and make recommendations.
Liaise with DDA Psych Associates, Program Coordinators, and Benedictine nurses about behavior plans, medications supports, and other restrictive procedures.
Review, approve, and make recommendations for behavior plans and medication supports.
Develop, review, and update policies and procedures related to promoting rights, implementing restrictions, and ensuring due process in line with COMAR and DC DDS regulations.
Receive and promptly review all incident reports and assign echelon of response for follow-up: not reportable, internal investigation, serious reportable, etc.
Responsible for knowledge of all new and updated regulatory requirements and assist the Benedictine organization in meeting regulatory guidelines.
Serve as source of information and clarification as to regulatory guidelines and expectations.
Cooperate with Benedictine administration and in-state/out-of-state agencies in any inspection or investigation.
