+ Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • No experience necessary! As long as you have a heart and the ability to show compassion, we will train you upon hire
  • Any certifications necessary for the job will be paid for and coordinated through Benedictine


+ Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 assistance to students as needed or directed by the Classroom Teacher and as reflected in their student-specific plan.
  • Provide assistance with behavioral and other therapeutic programs as necessary.
  • Collect student-specific data, including BTF data.
  • Assists with toileting and feeding. May be asked to assist with transportation.
  • As needed, assists with ensuring that the classroom is in good order at the end of the day, i.e., clean boards, materials put away, trash emptied and desk and chairs arranged for the next day's activities.
  • Follow specific requirements and the instructional lead in various areas of the school as is appropriate in each area (i.e. pool, vocational sites, etc).
  • Serve as a role model for students and coworkers by demonstrating core values and the Benedictine Code of Conduct
  • Cooperate with Benedictine administration and in-state/out-of-state agencies in any inspection or investigation.
  • Attend all faculty meetings, staffing and in-service sessions as requested and/or appropriate.
  • Attend all mandatory trainings and maintain job-specific certifications and licenses


+ Working Conditions

Hours of work

  • Full time
  • Monday thru Friday 8:15am-3:30pm, this position follows the school calendar.
  • No weekends.

Overtime expectations

  • Overtime is not required but is regularly available and much appreciated. Any employee can request extra hours, regardless of seniority

Work environment

  • Classroom setting.

Travel requirements

  • You must have a relatively clean driving record as transporting individuals may be required. We have Benedictine vehicles to use for transportation purposes. Use of your own vehicle is not required.

On-call responsibilities

  • Not required for this position.
