GUAM- OPERATIONS MANAGER  (Regular Full Time)
Location: HDCC Guam LLC

The main function of the Operations Manager is to plan, organize, direct, execute, coordinate and control the operations to meet our goals.

The primary responsibility is to accomplish the goals of profit, volume, R.O.I., billings in excess of cost and cash flow. It also requires involvement in productivity improvement, marketing, recruiting and training, safety, quality, environmental, competitive bid project procurement and negotiation of projects. It also requires direct contact with owners and their representatives to negotiate or resolve problems.

Other responsibilities include development of staff and operating personnel to support HDCC Guam LLC efforts located primarily in Guam and other areas of the Indo-Pacific region as needed.

The HDCC Guam LLC Operations Manager - Reports to HDCC Guam LLC Division Manager.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS USED

1. General Contractor Construction Management. While the primary location of building works is on Guam, this involves interacting with HDCC Hawaii for proposal reviews, methodology selection, staffing and cost control.

2. Current construction techniques and equipment to stay up on current trends to management and field techniques and construction equipment to assure compatibility of the organization.

3. Bid and negotiating procedures understand the nature and procedures of project procurement and marketing techniques.

4.Budget, cost and schedule control develop, understand and interpret job controls.

5. Claims and contract law know the procedure and liabilities of the legal part of the construction business.

6. Federal, Public and Private Owners, JV Partners, agencies associations and industry relationship necessary to improve and develop relationship by associating with individuals, contractors and public organizations.

7. Financial understand the workings of reporting systems, the importance of company measurement and how to improve the annual financial outcome

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Engineering, Construction Management or Architectural degree or completion of Construction Management Certificate Program or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years practical construction experience
  • Basic estimating and scheduling skills
  • Ability to read and understand plans and specifications
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Blue Beam and Adobe helpful
  • Able to plan and organize tasks, have effective written and verbal communication skills and function under pressure or time limitations.

Starting Salary: $175,000.00/yr
