In line with Community Research Foundation's commitment to inspire and mentor the next generation of mental health professionals, we are pleased to announce an Intern to Employee job opportunity to work as an on-call Counselor in one of our Short Term Acute Residential Treatment Programs. The position is available upon completion of your practicum/internship in CRF.

Hours: On Call; must be able to work at least 2 shifts per month. Work shifts may include days (8:00 am to 4:00 pm), evening (4:00 pm to Midnight), overnight (Midnight to 8:00 am), weekday or weekend shifts

Pay Rate: $27.24 per hour (BA level) or $32.19 per hour (MA level), plus $3.00 per hour differential for weekend or overnight shifts

EducationBachelor's degree in a mental health-related field required. Awarded/Conferred Master's degree in a mental health-related field, such as Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling strongly preferred.

As a Counselor I or II, you will:

  • Depending on years of experience, may assist with initial behavioral health assessments of new clients.
  • Provide individual contacts, group, and milieu psychosocial behavior health services and activities for clients within scope of practice.
  • Develop and update individual treatment service plans for clients
  • Create discharge plans and provide linkage to other support services within the community
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning
  • Excellent opportunity to work with dually-diagnosed adults

Additional Qualifications and Skills

  • Must be a CRF intern/Practicum student who has completed all his/her intern/practicum requirements.
  • First Aid/CPR certification is required and must be kept current during employment; can be obtained prior to starting work
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, specifically Word and Excel
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment is essential
  • Ability to pass criminal/background clearance

Turning Point Crisis Center is a Short Term Acute Residential Treatment (START) program that provides intensive, community-based crisis residential services for adults. We deliver a unique alternative to psychiatric hospitalization to clients who are experiencing a psychiatric crisis of such magnitude so as not to be manageable on an outpatient basis. Our services are provided in a home-like environment that specializes in the psychosocial rehabilitation of each individual.
