Hours: 40 hours per week. Hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm; Wednesday, 11:00 am to 7:00 pm

Pay Rate: $31.00 to $33.00 per hour

Education: Master’s degree in a mental health related field such as Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling required

Licensure: Licensed, license-eligible, or registered in California with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) required

As a Clinician I, you will:

  • Primarily provide services to clients with active and/or history of co-occurring disorders.
  • Conduct initial behavioral health assessment of new clients and/or returning clients; perform collateral interviews as indicated.
  • Provide individual and group psychosocial behavioral health services and activities for clients, including COD clients.
  • Assist the client in developing client service plan goals, prioritizing areas of need, and steps needed to reach goals established, as well as identified areas of strength.
  • Continually monitor progress towards goals and supports client’s efforts toward self-sufficiency.

Additional Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with a mental health population, especially with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and co-occurring disorders is strongly preferred; Motivational Interviewing training preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred, but not required
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office
  • Able to pass criminal/background clearance

South Bay Guidance Center is one of our Adult Outpatient programs (AOP), which provide behavioral health services including psychiatric and clinical assessment, treatment planning, ongoing medication services, individual and group counseling, case management, crisis intervention, mobile outreach, vocational support, peer support and older adult outreach. We deliver fully integrated services to adult clients diagnosed with a serious mental illness, as well as individuals with co-occurring, mental health, and substance use disorders.

All of our outpatient programs also provide full-time walk-in services. Our programs utilize evidence-based practices to assist our clients in reaching their goals and to live the highest quality of life while managing their mental illness.
