Employee Relations Specialist – Central Office Operations
Hours: 40 hours per week; Monday - Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Pay Rate: $28.00 to $32.00 per hour

Program Overview:
Located at our Central office in the Mission Bay area, our Human Resources department provides comprehensive HR supports and guidance to CRF locations throughout San Diego. Our full-service team’s functions include employee relations, performance management, policy education, benefits, recruiting, leave management, accommodations, and HRIS management and metrics.
Typical Duties of the Employee Relations Specialist
- Collaboratively work with employees and managers to address and resolve employment related issues; assist with dispute resolution.
- Jointly responsible for performing routine investigations and analyze resultant data to resolve employee relation matters.
- Jointly communicate and explain the rights and responsibilities of leaves of absence and worker’s compensation benefits to employees and managers; jointly process leaves and report worker’s complementation claims.
- Jointly provide human resources training to employees and managers on various Human Resources subjects, including employment law, performance management, performance development, and disciplinary actions.
- Assist with dispute resolution and reconciliation
- Provide performance management training and education, as well as assist with writing performance improvement plans
- Works collaboratively with other members of the team to facilitate timely processing of documentation and reporting of worker’s compensation and leave of absence requests
- Assist employees and management with interpreting employee handbook and company policies; assist employees and managers with routine employment related issues and questions.
Qualifications/Skills Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in HR-related field, HR Certification with additional experience required, or equivalent education/experience
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of significant employee relations experience required, preferably with multi-site organization and over 500 employees
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills, problem solving, and organizational skills required
- Professional-level verbal and written communication abilities required
- Previous experience managing leaves of absence and worker’s compensation in CA preferred
- HRIS experience is a plus
- Ability to pass criminal/background clearance
