Academic Instructor - (F/T) Yakima  (Full Time)

Position Overview

Academic Instructor will enhance the opportunities of our students and employees to enjoy success through empowerment, as a result of their education and hard work. The instructor will facilitate successful transition to post-secondary education and/or the workforce.  This individual ensures that educational programs and activities serve diverse populations, including those that have been historically marginalized/excluded from participation.  The position will also help coordinate and support the implementation of integrating curriculum and services.

  1. Designs, develops, and delivers learning opportunities and assesses individual academic progress
  2. Differentiates instruction to meet the individual student’s needs and various learning styles
  3. Reviewing, managing, and developing curriculum outline and materials
  4. Facilitating class instruction utilizing your experience and passion for your field
  5. Documents and reports student attendance and progress
  6. Responding promptly to student requests and provides detailed timely feedback
  7. Administering evaluations of student performance based on course deliverables.
  8. Continuously innovating inclusive and culturally-responsive pedagogy and active learning experiences (campus, online, hybrid) in response to assessment and evidence/data analysis
  9. Maintains necessary reporting systems.
  10. Prepares daily work plans and instructional materials for classroom use
  11. Provides individual attention and assistance to meet the varied needs and abilities of students. Teaches and instructs through lectures, demonstrations and audio/visual aids
  12. Incorporates Life Skills, Leadership, Vocational Skills and other relevant learning opportunities.
  13. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will assist with assessment of current instructional methods, develop programs and curricula, and participate in professional activities.
  14. Effective use of oral and written communication skills.
  15. Other duties as assigned.
