Associate Director - Moses Lake or Yakima  (Full Time)

This position will be located in Moses Lake or Yakima 

Poistion Overview:

The Housing and Financial Services Associate Director is responsible for assisting the Director in providing the overall management of the Housing and Financial Services operations and programs. This professional level, full-time position is responsible for the planning, organizing and administration of multiple established programs. This position is responsible for providing oversight, and assistance to the Program Managers in offering programs, activities, and services to participants and clients primarily in the Yakima, Grant, and Adams Counties. The Associate Director is also responsible for assisting the Director in the day-to-day administration and operations including grant writing, fund development, development and implementation of programs and projects aimed at generating solutions to problems created by the proliferation of poverty in the target communities. This position is responsible for ensuring services are provided in the target areas and marketed in a way all those who live in the targeted areas are aware of the services provided at our sites.  This position is responsible for providing assistance to the Director in the development and implementation of the outlined programs. This position will provide guidance, training, and support to the program managers they oversee.

Essential Duties:

  • Articulate OIC of WA and Community Services missions to staff and clients and demonstrate a commitment to these missions.
  • In the absence of the Director will serve as interim Director
  • Will assist the Director in providing oversight of program managers who provide direct services and support to individuals and/or clients.
  • Become versed in Divisional Programs:  Utilities & Rental Assistance, Outreach Services, Financial Education & Mortgage Assistance and Weatherization Assistance Services.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with other agencies, organizations, and partners in the community to meet the targeted community needs and as instructed by the Director.
  • Coordinate and provide details of OIC of WA community events to other agencies and organizations to ensure the target communities receive the details of the events.
  • Provides outreach goals as communicated by the Director to program managers and ensures program compliance in each department. 
  • Ensuring staff attend community events to educate and inform participants of agency and programmatic services.
  • Assist the Director in preparing, planning, and administering budgets for programs and services, provide continuous follow up with Program Managers.
  • Assists the Director with continuous follow up research opportunities for funding including preparing agency-wide fundraising events.
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining all required reports.
  • Assist in researching and analyzing member or community needs to determine future program directions and goals.
  • Under the instruction of the Director speak to community groups to explain and interpret agency purposes, programs, and policies.
  • Monitors daily operation of programs and events. Determines if the events have met the expected goals.
  • Assists the Director in planning, organizing, and directing community programs.
  • Evaluate the work of staff to ensure programs are of appropriate quality and resources are used effectively.
  • Provide yearly staff evaluations per agency policy with a follow-up review and update after 6 months of the evaluation delivery to staff to ensure goals and performance is on target.
  • Ensure the delivery of quality services by providing training to all staff who work within these specific programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Wage: $33.40 per hour
