Grant Writer/ Development Coordinator  (Full Time)
Select Location: Yakima

Position Overview:

The Grant Writer/ Development Coordinator will work alongside the Marketing and Development Coordinator and will be supervised by the Chief Executive Officer to identify grant opportunities, maintain an organized work environment, follow up on development correspondence, coordinate projects, gather data for needs assessments, work on grants and grant reports, organize fundraisers/community events, arrange community stakeholder meetings, working on advocacy, social media, marketing, and public relations. The person in this position must be able to conceptualize, plan, and implement a programmatic approach to building relationships both with staff and with donors, funders, and sponsors to secure support in this new position.

Essential Duties:

  • Assists in identifying and cultivating grants, contracts, and agreements.
  • Collaborates with Directors, and the Sr. Directors to ensure the departments growth by identifying and writing grant applications.
  • Ensures personal accountability for meeting grant funding deadlines.
  • Manages grants and grant reports.
  • Coordinate grant administration work with directors to support grant reporting and compliance.
  • Updates and maintains the grants and contracts calendar.
  • Provides grant implementation and support.
  • Works with the CEO, Marketing and Development Coordinator and leadership staff to assist in coordinating fundraisers, community events, and assists with identifying funding sources and sponsors for events.
  • With the CEO and Marketing and Development Coordinator, establish, prepare, and manage an annual fundraising calendar and budget, and budgets for fundraising events and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with program staff to identify and support the execution of program-related fundraising opportunities.
  • Creates and maintains a donor list to plan, track and evaluate results of fundraising efforts.
  • Documents donor, sponsor, and institutional funder relationships, keeps notes to assure accurate, timely, and consistent donor engagement and communications.
  • Prepare, train, and equip staff with the tools, knowledge, practice, and support needed to be effectively engaged in fundraising and development activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Wage: $24-$34 per hour DOE
