GED Instructor 1 (F/T) - Yakima, Sunnyside, Moses Lake (Full Time) Select Location: Moses Lake, Othello, Yakima
Position Overview:
As a GED instructor, you will coordinate the academic activities, and design the academic advising structure, programming, and instructional support curriculum. The GED Instructor will conduct educational assessments and occupational evaluations to determine the student's reading, math, language, and communication skill levels. They will provide students with HSED preparation assistance and instruction to graduate with HSED credentials including academic instruction in Common Core State Standards in math, science, language arts, writing, reading, and social studies.

Essential Functions
Maintain an active record of student performance and growth. Research, develop, and implement culturally relevant instruction and materials to assist students with academic and professional skills development.
Prepare students for further education by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities and persevere with challenging tasks.
Expose students to occupational training and careers, particularly for STEM- related activities and help work readiness training for students.
Must work in partnership with programmatic staff to ensure student's academic progress is guided by each student's Individual Success Plan (ISP).
Work with college partners to coordinate GED testing preparation services and exam schedules.
Observe and evaluate students' work to determine progress and make suggestions for improvement to the Project/Program Director.
Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicate those objectives to students.
Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs, abilities, and interests.
Other duties as assigned.
Salary pay range $20.57- $26.84 per hr.
