Outreach and Recruitment Counselor (F/T) - All Locations  (Full Time)
Select Location: Moses Lake, Othello, Pasco, Sunnyside, Walla Walla, Wenatchee, Yakima

Shift Type: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm

Position Overview: 

The Outreach and Recruitment Counselor(ORC) represents OIC of Washington to prospective students and organizations and works to increase prospects and convert them into enrolled students. The ORC’s primary duty is to support the OIC’s mission to identify new leads in assigned audience group and recruit prospective students to Education and Career Services and successfully meet enrollment goals. This position will perform outreach to various local communities to educate and refer target prospects to programs. The person in this position must be able to clearly communicate the requirements and goals of the OIC programs to target audiences and assist them with scheduling an assessment to receive services through this program.

Essential Functions:

Develop and present community outreach events, programs, and presentations. 

 

Complete a comprehensiveassessment intake interview for potential participants both in person and via telephone to determine eligibility for program services.  

 

Participate in Outreach focus groups and attend local trainings related to Outreach.  

 

Attend community meetings regarding target audience populations. 

 

Work collaboratively with other outreach teams to maximize outreach effortsthroughout service areas. 

 

Maintain complete and accurate records of Outreach contacts and data made and services provided. 

 

Create and utilize informal community networks, as needed, to locate resources and make referrals as necessary. 

 

Inform Supervisors of any unusual events which may occur and document the incident per agency policy.  

 

Make necessary notifications when required to law enforcement, supervisors, and other appropriate individuals. 

 

Ensure all paperwork and related activities are current, accurate, and in compliance in a timely manner. Includes all case notes and reports required for billing. 

 

Attend all staff meetings, in-service trainings, and supervision meetings. 

 

Maintain flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends shifts. Notifying supervisor of the potential of overtime (which is not allowed) weekly.  Work week is Sunday through Saturday with a maximum of 40 hours per work week. 

 

Work with other divisional team members to reach monthly goals forprogram enrollment into the program. 

 

Participate in daily debrief sessions, weekly supervisory and/or staff meetings, training and development opportunities as determined appropriate by the program director. 

 

Stayinformed of organizational policies and procedures. 

 

Inform the Program Director apprised of any concerns regarding upset prospects and students. 

 

Other duties as assigned. 

 

Wage: $20.57 (starting) per hour
