The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is an assembly of the hierarchy of the Catholic Church in the United States and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The purpose of the Conference is to promote the greater good which the Church offers humankind.  The bishops themselves constitute the membership of the Conference and are served by a staff of approximately 315 lay people, priests, deacons, and religious, located at the Conference headquarters in Washington, DC, with branch offices in Miami, FL and Rome.

The Conference is organized as a corporation in the District of Columbia. Its purposes under civil law are: "To unify, coordinate, encourage, promote and carry on Catholic activities in the United States; to organize and conduct religious, charitable and social welfare work at home and abroad; to aid in education; to care for immigrants; and generally to enter into and promote by education, publication and direction the objects of its being."

Join our dynamic team to contribute to this critical mission  The Program Associate Special Programs provides general office administrative support for special programs. Demonstrates willingness and ability to understandrespect, and contribute to the USCCB mission and to fulfill job duties following its Catholic identity

 

Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience or combination of college-level course work and related experience. Major Field/Specialty: Program administration, business, social services, administrative services coordination

 Other Specialized Training: (i.e., word processing, personal computer, knowledge of Catholic Churchetc.)

    Competence witinformation technology, including internet-based database systems.

     Strong office management skills-must be very organized and detail-oriented.

     Ability to take direction from multiple managers.

     Must be able to work independently and follow through on tasks without monitoring

     Competence with MS Office Excel and database management software. Ability to format and modify documents. Familiarity with the catholic churchits missionstructure, and teachings. Language Requirement: (if any) Knowledge of Spanish is helpful.Excellent English verbal and written skills. Ability to effectively proofread documents prepared for meetings and distribution.  Statisticareporting.

 

The USCCB office is located in Northeast Washington, DC, near The Basilica and the Catholic University of America campus, just a few blocks from the Brookland stop on the red line.
