We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for the environment to support our environmental field operations. The Environmental Technician I will assist team leads on projects by collecting reliable data, troubleshooting issues that come up in the field, and maintaining and preparing equipment for field work. In addition to performing field work, the position will support senior management in the office by reviewing and compiling data, contributing to the quality assurance program, and acting as a leader in safety protocols and planning. This position involves overnight travel (approximately 50%) with weekends home. Hotel costs and per diems are covered by AET.

IN THIS JOB, YOU WILL:
Primary responsibilities will include support for air emissions stack testing in accordance with established methodologies and protocols.
Support air emissions testing project preparation, planning, and equipment maintenance.
Conduct sampling of air, soil, ground water, wastewater, surface water, wastes and other environmental media in accordance with established protocols.
Sample soil, suspect asbestos containing materials, organic vapor, surface water, storm water and ground water locations/wells for physical characteristics and chemical impacts.
Record data, prepare reports, provide analysis and interpretations of findings based on scientific or engineering knowledge.
Work with a diverse team throughout multiple offices, utilizing MS Outlook, MS Teams, and Dynamics 365 to coordinate work.
Provide secondary support to other departments at AET, including environmental soil remediation, groundwater sampling, vapor mitigation, and more.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Completion of a 2-year vocational or college program in a field related to science, engineering or environmental issues; OR
1-3 years of practical experience in an environmental or engineering related field; OR
Preferred completion of a 4-year technical degree in science, engineering, or environmental related field.
Knowledge of promulgated EPA test methodologies is a plus
Knowledge of and experience working at industrial facilities, especially with consideration to safety programs, is a plus
Knowledge of business administration and organizational management is a plus
Position includes frequently lifting up to 50 lbs independently, sitting or standing for extended periods of time, and working remotely
