Available Positions > Job Description Respite Care Facilitator - Thriving Communities (Full Time) PURPOSE OF POSITIONThe Respite Care Facilitator is responsible for the coordination and care of the respite clients to ensure the daily physical and emotional needs of the youth (ages 6-16) are fulfilled. This includes following established plans and activities and creating activities to ensure effective education and developmental opportunities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
· High school diploma or equivalent · College credit hours in social work, psychology, or a related mental health field from an accredited college, preferred. · Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
· Able to accept and discuss cultural differences and respond to culturally based cues.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
· While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. · Running for brief periods of time. · Some physical requirements in working with children include the ability to physically hold youth utilizing Emergency Safety Physical Intervention (ESPI). · The employee must be able to safely get down on knees and remain in position for up to 10 minutes, have extreme flexibility to hold youth and switch positions while holding and lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. · Support and safely lower 150 pounds of weight to the floor. · Ability to have sight and sound to effectively supervise clients.
LANGUAGE ABILITY Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
COGNITIVE DEMANDS Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS To perform this job successfully, an individual should have industry relevant software, other web-based software programs, and Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY Residential facility environment with typical noise level, fast paced. The hours of work in this position are normal work week hours with some variances. The incumbent to this position must be flexible with the work schedule and expect schedule changes as required by agency needs. Must be approved. |
