Location: Groton

CIVIL ENGINEER OR CIVIL ENGINEER, P.E.

Public Works Department, Engineering Division

Full-Time, Exempt, 40 Hours Per Week

 

POSITION RANGE FOR CIVIL ENGINEER:                   $75,254 - $86,444

 

POSITION RANGE FOR CIVIL ENGINEER, P.E.:          $88,002 - $101,087

 

 

POSITION OVERVIEW:

 

Selects and applies standard civil engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to a variety of public works planning, construction, design and land surveying projects; provides technical assistance and consultation to Town Departments, Boards, and commissions; and inspects construction      projects.

Duties to include performing review of construction documents and plans for compliance with civil engineering, as well as industry standards and guidelines, obtaining ability to design various civil engineering items such as drainage systems, and providing assistance to the public on policies and procedures.  Civil Engineer, P.E. may act in a lead capacity.

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR CIVIL ENGINEER:

                       

The skills and knowledge required would generally be acquired with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.  Valid motor vehicle license required.  Certification as an Engineer-In-Training desirable.

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR CIVIL ENGINEER, P.E.:

                                               

The skills and knowledge required would generally be acquired with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and three years of increasingly responsible experience in public works engineering.                                                                                                  

Valid motor vehicle license and Registered Professional Engineer Certification required.  Certification as Land Surveyor and proficiency in AutoCAD preferred.
