Available Positions > Job Description Aquatics: Senior Lifeguard/Water Safety Instructor (Part Time) OVERVIEW: The Senior Lifeguard performs lifeguard and swim instruction duties and assists in the maintenance of facilities. The Senior Lifeguard teaches swimming classes and assists with planning and scheduling of staff training. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Thorough knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to pool safety; strong understanding of standard lifeguard practices and ability to perform various prevention and rescue techniques; required certifications include CPR, Lifeguard, and Water Safety Instructor. Ability to accept direction and to develop and maintain respect and discipline from the general public. Strong swimming ability. Part-time position, up to 10 hours/week to include weekends. Starting rate: $17.00/hour; position range: $17.00-$17.50/hour. Review of applications with best qualified candidates eligible for oral interview. Position open until filled.
