Assistant Store Manager II (ASM 2)

JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Store Manager II (ASM2) provides direct support to the manager of a Band 1 store in overall store operations in an effort to achieve sales goals while providing excellent customer service to donors and shoppers. The Assistant Store Manager I is responsible for the management of a retail store location in the absence of a Store Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains direct and consistent communication with the Store Manager Acts as lead greeter to customers and donors Completes opening and closing duties Assists in preparing necessary retail forms, including finance and HR paperwork Assists in training, supervising and scheduling store personnel and volunteers Assists in achieving or exceeding budgeted sales goals monthly and annually while controlling expenses Achieves or exceeds production goals and standards Effectively investigates all accidents and injuries Maintains a clean and safe environment Reports known or suspected security or theft problems Attends monthly store meetings and in-service training as scheduled Assists customers with selections and purchases; processes donated goods in preparation for stocking the sales floor Ensure customers are treated in a fair, courteous and efficient manner Assists in ensuring merchandise colorization and categorization of store inventory and maintaining adequate store inventory Processes donated goods in preparation for stocking the sales floor Assists in all store salvage runs; returning in proper containers (requirement) and documentation Maintains a professional and courteous attitude at all times Promotes the mission and values of Goodwill and the Retail division Ensures the production area meets Kaizen standards Completes other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
· High School diploma or equivalent required · 2 year prior supervisory experience in a retail or related environment required
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
SCOPE OF SUPERVISION:
· Directly supervises retail store staff in various roles on shift; Typically supervises between 4 – 12 full and part time employees per shift · Employees under scope of supervision are in same location

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Lifting up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. May be required to regularly stand for extended periods of time, walk, reach with hands/arms with full range of motion, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, push or pull. Regularly required to talk and hear. Frequently required to use hands and fingers to hold, handle and feel objects, knobs, keys and/or buttons.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
May be exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level is usually moderate.
