ABOUT GOODWILL: Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake, Inc. has enjoyed over 94 years of history in the Baltimore area helping others help themselves. Goodwill collects reusable items for resale in our retail stores, trains people for work and living skills and instills dignity and purpose in countless people’s lives. Today, we employ more than 800 individuals; operate more than 25 retail stores throughout Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Anne Arundel County, Cecil County, Harford County, Howard County and the Eastern Shore; 9 career development sites and provide a variety of commercial services at several locations. Material Handler Forklift Operator(Recycling Center)   (Full Time)
Job Type: Recycling Center/Operations

   SIGN ON BONUS- $1000

****This position offers a sign on bonus which is awarded after 90 days-$200,180 days -$300 and after 1 year -$500 of successful employment***




Material Handler /Forklift Operator (MATFRK)


   Base Pay Rate: $ 11.75 per hour  

Employment is contingent on criminal background check 


  LOCATION: Recycling Center – Linthicum-Baltimore County
800 Central Avenue Baltimore, MD 21090


  Job Duties:  Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, bins or trucks; Properly bales materials and donated goods; Safe operation of warehouse equipment including bales, manual hand jacks, electrical hand jacks and forklifts; Responsible for maintenance and proper storage of equipment; Report and document accidents according to procedures; Stacks or assembles materials into bundles, bands bundles together using baling equipment; Opens containers and sorts material into categories; Attaches identifying tags or labels to material or marks information on containers, bins or bales; Maintains a clean work environment responsible for daily cleaning duties such as sweeping, cleaning equipment with rags, cleaning outside trailer yard, lunch room, bathrooms and other common areas as assigned.



  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred;

  • At least 3 months warehouse or dock experience


Hours Requirement: Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends


Working Conditions: Employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, fumes and other airborne particles; Occasionally exposed to high places, risks of electrical shock or vibration; Typically works with a loud noise level.


Physical Requirements / Work Environment:  Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends; Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, fumes and other airborne particles; Occasionally exposed to high places, risks of electrical shock or vibration; Typically works with a loud noise level



Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: 
Active forklift operator's certification or must earn certification within 30 days of hire.
