Location: East Providence, RI

The 988 Crisis Call Center at BH Link is hiring professionals who are looking to make a positive impact on the lives of Rhode Island community members! The 988 Call Center is a crisis answering service that responds to calls, chats, and texts from individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use crises.

This call center is connected to the BH Link The states walk-in behavioral health crisis center that serves Rhode Islanders statewide. As such, 988 Crisis Counselors can assist service recipients in facilitating entry to BH Link, to be seen in person by an experienced clinical team that provides comprehensive assessment and referral services. The 988 Crisis Call Center also coordinates with local mobile crisis response teams, dispatching available mobile crisis clinicians to the community in order to meet people where they are. The services provided emphasize client-centered care in the least restrictive possible settings.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Working on site at the 988 Call Center in East Providence.
  • Answering calls, chats, and texts coming into the 988 Crisis Call Center, both through the 988 Lifeline and the 414-LINK line.
  • Engaging callers with empathy and professionalism to effectively establish clinical rapport in a brief period.
  • Routinely assessing for risk of suicidality (and other risks to safety) with callers experiencing mental health and/or substance use crises.
  • Identifying best outcomes, including the coordination of wellness checks and/or the dispatch of mobile crisis response teams.
  • Providing callers with resource and referral options as applicable.
  • Completing all required documentation and data collection in a timely fashion.
  • Coordinating directly with members of the BH Link clinical team as appropriate.
  • Coordinating with 911 dispatch and local municipalities as appropriate.
  • Documenting incident reports as necessary notifying call center supervisors in the case of any critical incident.
  • Attending required staff meetings and trainings.


Desired Skills:

  • The ability to answer crisis calls, chats, and texts with empathy and composure.
  • The capability of multitasking and transitioning between periods of low and high call/chat/text volume.
  • Utilize supervision and take feedback in order to continually grow and improve as a crisis counselor.
  • Strong communication skills that will lead to effective coordination of care both within and outside of the 988 Call Center.
  • The ability to effectively navigate digital platforms (the 988-answering platform, resource databases, electronic health records, etc.).
  • Multilingual staff are highly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum high school equivalency required.
  • 1-3 Years in the human services industry preferred.
  • Fluency in multiple languages preferred.

ACT Psych Rehab Specialist  (Full Time)
Location: Woonsocket, RI

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The PSRS's role within the multidisciplinary team is to provide psychosocial rehabilitation services to psychiatrically disabled adults and their families, primarily in the community, to promote community integration and assist clients in achieving their recovery goals through case management, independent living and social skills training, social support and network enhancement, and access to leisure activities. Individual and group services are provided to develop, enhance, and retain skills and competencies in the areas of living, learning, working, and socializing. Through participation in the development and implementation of individualized Recovery Plans, PSRS will monitor and track the progress of clients on assigned caseloads.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in psych rehab, psychology, social work, or other human services related field.
  • One year of experience in community mental health preferred.
  • Valid license, clean driving record, reliable vehicle and auto insurance required.
  • Employee will assume full responsibilities for the cost and efforts of maintaining any and all forms of licensure, certification and credentialing documentation as required in their job description or sited on any Action Form as a qualification for hiring, job promotion, or monetary increase. Subsequently, the employee will adhere to the credentialing requirements of all insurance/funding sources for which they qualify and provide Human Resources and/or the Credentialing Specialist with the initial required documentation (licenses, liability insurance policies, DEA numbers etc.) and all renewals of these documents.

OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Demonstrates competency in clinical, technical and/or administrative skills, procedures, methods, and tools required to perform the job successfully.
  • Regularly available for work, reliable and on time for all things scheduled.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and written.
  • Competently and consistently completes work accurately and thoroughly and in a timely manner.
  • Self-starter works with minimal supervision, and as part of a multidisciplinary team, and constantly seek new/better ways to organize/complete tasks.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • 75% of services are delivered in the community; this includes home visits when appropriate.
  • Clients transportation is required.
  • One evening shift per week (until 6:30 pm), one weekend shift per month, rotating holiday shifts.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Ensure general safety and structure of the shelter by monitoring resident activities as they pertain to shelter rules and policies. Additionally, ensure general safety of the residents by ensuring the building structure is properly cared for and maintained.

  • Record clients coming in after curfew.
  • Provide crisis intervention with the assistance of on call staff.
  • Respond to resident concerns (provide concern form if needed).
  • Record all incidents on a typed incident form as required.
  • Attend quarterly staff meetings.
  • Attend required trainings.
  • Handle all client information confidentially and with respect.
  • Perform all shift cleaning and maintenance chores.
  • Any duties as assigned by supervisory staff. 

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED:

High School diploma or equivalency. Experience in related field preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Ability to climb stairs to the third floor, valid drivers’ license.

Duties:

  • Protect the safety, health and welfare of residents while promoting their independence.
  • Assist residents in reaching their personal goals for a better quality of life.
  • Ensure 24/7 staffing and provide supervision to all staff. Examples include scheduling and supporting staff.
  • Maximize census occupancy and adhere to financial targets.

BH Link - Peer Recovery Specialist- Crisis Services (East Providence)  (Full Time)
Location: East Providence, RI

The BH Link is a 24/7 behavioral health crisis and triage center partnering Community Care Alliance and Horizon Health Partners.  The program is hiring a Peer Specialist to work full-time to provide support and assistance to clients of the BH Link, Crisis Center. They also will provide phone support, and accompany clients to post crisis center appointments when appropriate.  Good communication skills a must.  The Behavioral Health Link will provide Rhode Islander's with immediate assessment and referral services. The program is staffed by a multi-disciplinary team which consists of RN's, Psychiatry, master's level counselors, case managers, peer specialists and phone screeners. The program also operates a 24/7 suicide hotline as well. The mobile crisis unit is a program transit van which is available to crisis center staff to provide community home visits when needed. 

 

We prefer an applicant who has successfully completed and passed a Co-occurring Peer Specialist training program endorsed by BHDDH and possess (or be eligible for) IC/RC state certification (CPRS). We also will accept those who are actively working on their certification.

POSITION SUMMARY:

· To collect and ensure proper coding (internal/external).

· Process data for billing and perform all functioning associated with CCBHC PPS2 billing guidelines.

This type of community based crisis triage is the new frontier of responding to mental health and substance use crises. Education /Licensing requirements/ skills: MA/RN with experience in behavioral health, will train for the Qualified Mental Health Professional license needed to complete emergency certifications. The outreach worker will work with a team consisting of a clinician, RN, case manager and peer specialist and assist individuals who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis. The outreach worker will provide support to clients seen and attempt to engage them or re-engage them in services after the initial crisis. The position may also involve transporting individuals (always accompanied by other staff) to appointments or treatment as well as assisting the program manager with data collection, marketing and networking.

Flexible schedule, days, may include evenings and some weekend coverage NO overnights.

The goal of the program is to provide a rapid response to individuals who are seeking behavioral health services and are in crisis, and to connect them to appropriate resources. CCBHC Mobile Crisis per diem Clinician  (Full Time)
Location: Cumberland, Pascoag & Woonsocket, RI

Community Care Alliance is looking for a per diem master’s level clinician or RN, QMHP certification preferred, to work in a new cutting-edge program responding to crises in the surrounding community. In this position you would have the opportunity to be working with an innovative team including law enforcement, case managers, peer specialist’s and an outreach worker, both in the community and responding from home. This type of community-based crisis triage is the new frontier of responding to mental health and substance use crises. This rapid response team would be an elite team of individuals working collaboratively with the intent to manage a crisis in the community, provide rapid resources for stabilization and to develop community connections with the intent to decrease the need for an emergency room intervention and an inpatient admission.

Education /Licensing requirements/ Skills: MA/RN with experience in behavioral health, will train for the Qualified Mental Health Professional license needed to complete emergency certifications. In this position you will be competitively compensated, must have excellent crisis intervention skills, be able to perform emergency certifications when necessary and a minimum of one year employment in community mental health, Crisis Stabilization Unit, or an inpatient psychiatric setting. Ability to diagnosis using the DSM 5 criteria. Employee must have a valid driver’s license.

Clinician Co-Responder Mobile Crisis Clinician  (Per Diem)
Location: Various - Rhode Island

Community Care Alliance is looking for per-diem masters level clinicians or RNs / QMHP certification preferred, to work in its new program called the Co-Responder Program. The Co-Responder Program pairs law enforcement and behavioral health clinicians to intervene and respond to behavioral health-related calls for police service. These teams utilize the combined expertise of the officer and the behavioral health clinician to de-escalate situations and help link individuals with behavioral health issues to appropriate services. Additionally, Co-Responders will conduct outreach and follow- up calls to individuals who have had police contact as a result of their behavioral health crisis. The Co-Responder clinician will be located at one of our local Police Departments in the Northern Rhode Island area.

Duties includemobile community crisis assessments and intervention in collaboration with local police departments and BH Link along with other mental health resources in the community; evaluation, disposition, and referral for all assessments; perform emergency certifications when necessary.

This position has flexible hours with availability seven days a week. Weekday hours are in the evening/ Saturday and Sunday hours areflexible.

Must have excellent crisis intervention skills and a minimum of 1 year employment in community mental health, CSU, or an inpatient psychiatric setting. Ability to diagnose using DSM 5 criteria. Employee must have valid driverslicense.

Evergreen, our assisted living program for adults who have experienced challenges living independently in the community, but do not need the 24-hour medical care that a nursing home provides, is in need of a per diem CNA/Med Tech. Our home provides specialized supports for individuals who have co-occurring behavioral and primary healthcare needs.

In this role you will provide medication related coordination with local pharmacies, hospitals, health clinics as needed, assist program nurses with medication packing activities and perform all ancillary nursing assistant functions as directed. You will work to protect the safety, health and welfare of residents in the program while promoting their independence, dignity and individuality.   • Directly supervising substance use program managers (IOP, residential); duties to include: 

    • Ensure recovery plans and clinical documentation are completed timely and in line with agency-accepted best practices and standards, while training staff and implementing PQI processes where necessary .

    • Support managers in ensuring program staff are proceeding toward LCDP.

    • Complete annual performance appraisals.  

  • Assisting program managers and directors in regularly reviewing, drafting, and modifying policies and procedures.

  • Assisting program managers and directors in PQI and client satisfaction survey efforts.

  • Providing on-site operational support to program managers and directors on a rotating basis (i.e., regularly visiting each program site within the division).

  • Overseeing compliance to contracting requirements, particularly regarding CCBHC and BH LINK/988. 

  • Overseeing compliance to requirements from accrediting bodies and, in partnership with the program development manager, overseeing preparation for re-accreditation site visits and audits. 

  • Identifying training needs within each program and working with the VP and program development manager to create and monitor training plans accordingly. 

 
Some rotating on-call responsibilities required. 
 
Education/Licensing requirements/skills: Masters in a human services-related field required. Independent licensure (LICSW, LMHC) highly preferred. Minimum of 5 years' experience providing direct care and/or supervision in substance use treatment programs required. LCDP preferred. Minimum of two years' supervisory experience required, with preference given to candidates who can demonstrate proficiency in compliance and quality assurance. POSITION SUMMARY:

The FCCP is a family preservation program. Services are provided by community agencies and funded by DCYF. We provide service to any youth/family with child under the age of 18. Services are intended to address risk for involvement with DCYF or law enforcement. The program can assist with navigating services to address developmental, behavioral, and social problems, as well as families who are at risk for abuse or neglect.

The Youth Specific Family Support Partner acts as a peer mentor to youth and a support to families. As a member of the Wraparound team, this youth support partner will help them to navigate systems, access resources, and connect to natural supports. Candidates must have lived experience with youth services or equivalent youth related work.

This position is Youth Specific Support. For youth referred for Wayward or Youth Diversion, weekly contact with the youth is required. This support partner will mentor youth, spending time with youth building rapport, building skills or completing tasks to address needs and goals identified by the FCCP plan. Youth specific FSP would also coordinate with the Care Coordinator and other team members, especially parents, to address barriers and communication issues.

The Youth Specific Family Support Partner works under and receives regular direction (weekly supervision) from a program Clinical Supervisor or designee, according to the Agency’s mission and philosophy, Program, and Division goals. FSPs may work in conjunction with multiple team members on assigned cases and must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Conducts the Healthy Families America family assessment with families to determine eligibility for home visitation services. The Evidence Based Practice (EBP) Fidelity Specialist will coordinate projects and activities related to EBP fidelity adherence and staff training across behavioral health programs. Responsibilities:

  • Map out and implement a fidelity plan that meets Accreditation, Licensing, SAMHSA Grant and RI-CCBHC certification standards.
  • Lead the CCA Fidelity Workgroup, attend and coordinate with other internal and external workgroups, and key leadership, to select fidelity tools and make recommendations to improve adherence.
  • Coordinate with partners and Designated Collaborating Organizations (DCOs) sharing fidelity training opportunities, ensuring training and coaching requirements are met, etc.
  • Work with all levels of staff in programs to ensure the timely completion of all fidelity assessments.
  • Coordinate the implementation of required EBP fidelity tools including development of workflows, data collection and entry, and completion tracking.
  • Coordinate work with designated external vendor, to coordinate, track and produce summary data and reports to help inform evaluation and continuous quality improvement.

Healthy Transitions Supported Employment/Education Specialist  (Full Time)

Seeking outgoing, energetic, and team-oriented professional to provide vocational and educational supports to Healthy Transitions participants living in Woonsocket, Lincoln, Cumberland, Burrillville, and North Smithfield. The Supported Employment/ Education Specialist (SEES) plays a key role in the success of the team's Coordinated Specialty Care services for young people (ages 16-25) with significant mental health challenges. As the SEES, you will assist participants with overcoming barriers to obtaining and maintaining employment. You will also assist participants with meeting their educational goals, such as returning to high school, getting a GED, or applying to colleges and graduate schools. You will be co-located with the rest of the Healthy Transitions team, which includes a clinician, case manager, nurse, a psychiatrist, and a team leader/ clinical supervisor. You will also have access to direct support and supervision from other Vocational professionals within the agency. You will have access to training in one or more Vocational services models, including Individual Placement and Support and Supporting Meaningful Employment/ ACRE Certification. This position is not primarily office-based, as one key role of the SEES is to connect with local businesses and employers to develop employment opportunities for our participants. With participants' consent, you will also continue to support these young people in the community as they adjust to their job, which increases their chance of becoming valuable, long-term employees. The successful candidate will be a dynamic self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills, haveprevious experience and/ or a genuine motivation to work with young adults, andbe familiar with the needs and treatment of persons with mental illness. This is a full-time position with primarily daytime hours, though applicants must be willing to work outside traditional office hours occasionally/ as needed. Our Integrated Community Treatment Team (ICTT) is seeking a full-time Masters Rehabilitation Specialist to start immediately. The Masters Rehabilitation Specialists role within the multidisciplinary team is to provide psychosocial rehabilitation counseling to psychiatrically disabled adults and their families, to promote community integration and assist clients in achieving their recovery goals through case management, independent living and social skills training, social support and network enhancement, and access to leisure activities. Individual and group services are provided to develop, enhance, and retain skills and competencies in the areas of living, learning, working, and socializing. Through participation in the development and implementation of individualized Recovery Plans, Masters Rehabilitation Specialists will monitor and track the progress of clients on their assigned caseload.

The ideal candidate can work independently and as part of a team, communicates effectively in written and oral forms, and has basic computer and email skills.

While this role is primarily office based, home visits and client transportation may be required for when working with clients with enhanced needs. Mileage is reimbursed.

Position is Monday-Friday 8:00-4:30 or 8:30-5:00.

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Oversee staff within the Mobile Crisis Team and Ambulatory Detox Team.

In addition, have maintained, within the last three (3) years, at least 12 months of successful full or part time paid or voluntary work experience (not necessarily consecutive) or one-year post-secondary education experience totaling 24 credit hours. In this position you will also assist clients in medication monitoring and education, conduct security checks on each room on an hourly basis, and other administrative duties as needed. 

Education/Licensing Requirement: HS diploma or equivalent required with experience in areas of mental health/substance abuse. Associate's degree in Human Services or prior work experience preferred.  Position requires you to obtain CPR and First Aid if you do not have a current certification. The BH Link is searching for enthusiastic clinicians and counselors who are looking to make a positive impact in the Rhode Island community! The BH Link provides an innovative 24/7 alternative to the emergency room for adults around RI who are in need of behavioral health crisis assessment and referral services.

The role of the RN Team Lead is to screen, assess, administer medication, and medically monitor clients of the BH Link alongside the other registered nurses of the program. The RN Team Lead also supports the medical team through direct and group supervision, training and onboarding, coordination of the coverage schedule, and contributing to medical on-call coverage.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision to a full team of full-time and part-time registered nurses.
  • Engage RNs in orientation and ongoing training.
  • Coordinate the 24/7 coverage schedule of the RN team for the BH Link.
