The 988 Call Center is a crisis answering service that responds to calls, chats, and texts from individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use crises.

This call center is connected to the BH Link The states walk-in behavioral health crisis center that serves Rhode Islanders statewide. As such, 988 Crisis Counselors can assist service recipients in facilitating entry to BH Link, to be seen in person by an experienced clinical team that provides comprehensive assessment and referral services. The 988 Crisis Call Center also coordinates with local mobile crisis response teams, dispatching available mobile crisis clinicians to the community in order to meet people where they are. The services provided emphasize client-centered care in the least restrictive possible settings.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Working on site at the 988 Call Center in East Providence.
  • Answering calls, chats, and texts coming into the 988 Crisis Call Center, both through the 988 Lifeline and the 414-LINK line.
  • Engaging callers with empathy and professionalism to effectively establish clinical rapport in a brief period.
  • Routinely assessing for risk of suicidality (and other risks to safety) with callers experiencing mental health and/or substance use crises.
  • Identifying best outcomes, including the coordination of wellness checks and/or the dispatch of mobile crisis response teams.
  • Providing callers with resource and referral options as applicable.
  • Completing all required documentation and data collection in a timely fashion.
  • Coordinating directly with members of the BH Link clinical team as appropriate.
  • Coordinating with 911 dispatch and local municipalities as appropriate.
  • Documenting incident reports as necessary notifying call center supervisors in the case of any critical incident.
  • Attending required staff meetings and trainings.

Desired Skills:

  • The ability to answer crisis calls, chats, and texts with empathy and composure.
  • The capability of multitasking and transitioning between periods of low and high call/chat/text volume.
  • Utilize supervision and take feedback in order to continually grow and improve as a crisis counselor.
  • Strong communication skills that will lead to effective coordination of care both within and outside of the 988 Call Center.
  • The ability to effectively navigate digital platforms (the 988-answering platform, resource databases, electronic health records, etc.).
  • Multilingual staff are highly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum high school equivalency required.
  • 1-3 Years in the human services industry preferred.

  • Facilitating the training and supervision of 988 Crisis Counselors.

988 Quality Improvement Assistant (Full Time)

The 988 Call Center is a crisis call center that responds to calls, chats, and texts from individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use crises. This call center is connected to the BH Link The states walk-in behavioral health crisis center that serves Rhode Islanders statewide. The services provided through the call center and walk-in center emphasize client-centered care in the least restrictive possible settings.

The 988 Quality Improvement Assistant will be responsible for call center quality improvement efforts. Individual will review contact documentation, identify trends in data collected, and recommend adjustments for adherence to funder and organization QA standards. The 988 Quality Improvement Assistant will work onsite at BH Link, 36hrs a week. This position will be reporting to 988 Call Center Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assemble data and prepare routine reports for distribution to relevant departments and funders/stakeholders.
  • Monitor usage and advise on internal reporting tools for tracking of relevant contact details and performance metrics.
  • Conduct regular review of contact logs and communicate findings to program supervisory staff to collaboratively ensure adherence to program standards of documentation and quality performance.
  • Assist investigation of complaints/grievances in collaboration with program manager and data team.
  • Review call recordings to identify successes and areas for improvement in crisis call center interventions.
  • Assist program leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of PQI process and procedure.
  • Provide other administrative support to the BH Links 988 call center as needed.

Desired Skills:

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, emphasis on Microsoft Excel, Forms, Power Automate, and Power BI.
  • Ability to analyze data sets and clinically focused content.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to further program goals.
  • Detail-oriented and well organized.
  • Ability to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • 2 years in data analysis and/or quality assurance preferred.

Our 
Assertive Community Treatment Team is looking for a Case Manager who has experience working in the substance use and mental health field. You will be an integral part of our multidisciplinary team to help people avoid crisis situations and to keep crises from turning into unnecessary hospitalizations. ACT is designed to help those individuals who are struggling with serious and persistent mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders that may need more than the traditional outpatient mental health care and psychiatric rehabilitation more intensive services. As the Case Manager will provide comprehensive community support to those individuals living in their homes. Your role will be to help stabilize individuals by assessing and evaluating all clients on an ongoing basis, provide support services and/or crisis intervention as needed, develop, design and implement treatment goals/plan with the client to promote the individual's recovery. In addition, collaborate with community resources while promoting recovery, improving their mental health and rehabilitation. This is a full time position with benefits.

Education/Licensing Requirements:

  • BA/BSW in a human services related field required.
  • Knowledge of substance abuse and mental health is a plus.

The ability to analyze data and create reports as needed is another function of this position.

Education requirements: 

High School or equivalent is required and experience working in a health care setting or similar is a plus.  The applicant must be proficient in the use of an electronic health record, along with Word and Excel. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a multidisciplinary team is a key component of this position.

  • Assist clients in filling out paperwork, as needed,

BH Link Peer Recovery Specialist (Full Time)  (Full Time)
Location: East Providence, RI

BH Link Peer Recovery Specialist (Full Time)

The BH Link is a 24/7 behavioral health crisis and triage center partnering Community Care Alliance and Horizon Health Partners. The program is hiring a Peer Specialist to work full-time to provide support and assistance to clients of the BH Link, Crisis Center. They also will provide phone support, and accompany clients to post crisis center appointments when appropriate. Good communication skills a must.

 

The Behavioral Health Link will provide Rhode Islander's with immediate assessment and referral services. The program is staffed by a multi-disciplinary team which consists of RN's, Psychiatry, master's level counselors, case managers, peer specialists and phone screeners. The program also operates a 24/7 suicide hotline as well. The mobile crisis unit is a program transit van which is available to crisis center staff to provide community home visits when needed.

 

We prefer an applicant who has successfully completed and passed a Co-occurring Peer Specialist training program endorsed by BHDDH and possess (or be eligible for) IC/RC state certification (CPRS). We also will accept those who are actively working on their certification.

This position provides case management and engaging activities for youth ages 12-25 within the Harbour Youth Center program. Attend training and development sessions.

Maintain required client contact and up to date client files.

Maintain current and accurate record keeping for client files in accordance with standards of particular case management program, Medicaid, and accreditation where applicable.

Utilize computer database systems to maintain appropriate information on clients, per program and agency requirements.

Complete all paperwork associated with maintaining current client statistics.

Ensure agency standards of care are met and in compliance with funders and others as required.

To complete all paperwork required for data generation in a timely fashion as determined by Director.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED:

Bachelors degree or minimum of 2 years related experience preferred.

Demonstrated case management skills and experience; emergency intervention methods, family dynamics, health, mental health and substance abuse systems; and knowledge of community resources.

Bi-lingual highly preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Community Care Allianceis looking for a full-time Master's level clinician to work in a new cutting-edge program responding to crisis in the surrounding community. This type of community-based crisis triage is the new frontier of responding to mental health and substance use crises.

This rapid response team would be an elite team of individuals working collaboratively with the intent to manage a crisis in the community, provide rapid resources for stabilization and to develop community connections with the intent to decrease the need for an emergency room intervention and an inpatient admission.

Clinicians will have the opportunity to work with an innovative team including, the program director, law enforcement and first responders, case managers, peer specialists and community mental health workers.

Education /Licensing requirements/ Skills:

An ideal candidate:

  • Possesses MA with experience in behavioral health. We will train for the Qualified Mental Health Professional license (needed to complete the emergency certifications).
  • Has excellent Crisis Intervention skills.
  • Is able to perform emergency certifications when necessary.
  • Has experience of at least 1 year in the community mental health, Crisis Stabilization Unit, or an inpatient psychiatric setting.
  • Is someone who can honor a trauma-informed, client-centered care perspective and is accepting of diversity of perspectives and background.
  • Is able to diagnosis using the DSM 5 criteria.
  • Has a valid driver's license.

Job Schedule:
This is a 24/7 program. As such, shifts will be offered for multiple days and times. Certain shifts will be based in our Woonsocket location, with mobile outreach: rate of pay highly competitive and is commensurate to skills and experience.

Overnight shifts are on-call: these will be paid at a flat hourly rate of $8/hour for time spent remote, plus a fee of $75-100 per community-based assessment based on credentials.

Per Diem applicants should be available for at least 2 shifts per month.

This schedule is desirable for professionals looking for supplementary income.

We are a team of Clinical Case Managers who provide supervised visitation to babies placed in DCYF foster care and their parents. Our staff is trained in evidence-based approaches that promote bonding and attachment. We coach sessions between parents and children using a strength-based, client-centered approach. We are a small, diverse team that is passionate about reunification and family preservation. Each Clinical Case Manager manages a small caseload and conducts center-based visits on a weekly basis. Once the family begins the reunification process, visits move to the parents home. POSITION SUMMARY:

Position Summary:

Community Care Alliance is looking for a full-time Master's level clinician to work in a new cutting-edge program responding to crisis in the surrounding community. This type of community-based crisis triage is the new frontier of responding to mental health and substance use crises.

This rapid response team would be an elite team of individuals working collaboratively with the intent to manage a crisis in the community, provide rapid resources for stabilization and to develop community connections with the intent to decrease the need for an emergency room intervention and an inpatient admission.

Clinicians will have the opportunity to be work with an innovative team including, the program director, law enforcement and first responders, case managers, peer specialists and community mental health workers.

Education /Licensing requirements/ Skills:

An ideal candidate:

  • Possesses MA with experience in behavioral health. We will train for the Qualified Mental Health Professional license (needed to complete the emergency certifications).
  • Has excellent Crisis Intervention skills.
  • Is able to perform emergency certifications when necessary.
  • Has experience of at least 1 year in the community mental health, Crisis Stabilization Unit, or an inpatient psychiatric setting.
  • Is someone who can honor a trauma-informed, client-centered care perspective and is accepting of diversity of perspectives and background?
  • Is able to diagnosis using the DSM 5 criteria.
  • Has a valid driver's license.

Job Schedule:      

This is a 24/7 program. As such, shifts will be offered for multiple days and times. Certain shifts will be based in our Woonsocket location, with mobile outreach: rate of pay highly competitive and is commensurate to skills and experience.

Overnight shifts are on-call: these will be paid at a flat hourly rate of $8/hour for time spent remote, plus a fee of $75-100 per community-based assessment based on credentials.

Per Diem applicants should be available for at least 2 shifts per month.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • Bachelors degree in nursing.

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Safe Haven Outpatient Clinician(Full Time)

Community Care Alliance is proud to offer an array of services supporting individuals who are homeless/unstably housed and coping with mental health and substance use challenges. Many of these services are part of Safe Haven drop-in center and in the community.


RESPONSIBILITES:

We are looking for a licensed clinician who is able to:

  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment,
  • Develop person-centered recovery plans,
  • Provide crisis intervention,
  • Meet with clients individually and in groups to provide psychotherapy
  • Support the Safe Haven staff by assisting with managing challenging client behaviors.
  • Provide training on mental health and substance use.
  • Assist with development of safety plans.

Skills and Training Requirements:

  • Must be a licensed clinician.
  • Masters degree in Social Work, or related Human Services Field.
  • Support clients in their recovery capital. Connect clients to Detox and higher levels of care.
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of mental health and substance use issues.
  • Able to use an EHR and document services electronically.

SAMHSA CCBHC IA Grant Lead Project Director (Full Time)  (Full Time)
Location: Woonsocket, RI

SAMHSA CCBHC Improvement and Advancement Grant Lead Project Director

Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Deputy Chief Operating Officer, the lead Project Director is responsible for the overall operation of the SAMHSA IA Grant. Provides project oversight and leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrates understanding and skill in developing, implementing the IA Grant work plan based on predetermined goals and objectives.                   
  • Manages collaborative relationships with IA Grant external and internal stakeholders, particularly with agency CCBHC Director, who ensures compliance with Rhode Island Demonstration State CCBHC Standards.                    
  • Principal SAMHSA Contact, including eRA Commons, GPO meetings and agenda development, progress reporting and other SAMSHA requirements are met.     
  • Ensures project sustainability, leading the Systems Team meeting with all key IA Grant leads and stakeholders participating. 
  • Responsible for the attainment of IA Grant goals and objectives via Project Team and Systems Team work, and communicates thus in Progress Reporting.          
  • Oversight of Project Evaluator, Project Coordinator, and other staff assigned tasks and responsibilities.                    
  • Makes and communicates well-informed and timely decisions.                    
  • Utilizes information available from a variety of sources to evaluate performance.                    
  • Identifies, analyzes and solves problems — providing proactive solutions to individual and organizational problems as related to IA Grant implementation.           
  • Motivates and guides staff towards goal attainment. Develops and sustains consistently cooperative working relationships.     
  • Seeks and actively participates in regularly scheduled supervision and self-development with emphasis on an openness to receive feedback and integrate recommendations in the execution of job responsibilities.

Internal collaboration on required IA Grant functions: 

  • Work with agency CFO, who ensures budget, accounting, contract management, Federal Financial Report requirements, etc. are met.                    
  • Work with agency Coordinator of Outcomes and Evaluation, who is responsible for Quality Measures, CQI, data analysis and reporting, assistance with IA Grant outcome data collection and analysis, etc.                    
  • Work with agency EBP Specialist and Project Evaluator, to implement evidence-based practices assigned to the IA Grant.               
  • Work with agency Director of Communications and Development, to ensure completion of the tri-annual Community Needs Assessment and effective response to the information.                    
  • Work with agency Deputy Chief Operating Officer and Human Resources Director to ensure completion of regular updates to the CCA CLAS Plan.                    
  • Work with Community Behavioral Health Liaison, who is responsible for community outreach and Community Advisory Board. 
  • Work with Deputy Chief Operating Officer, who is responsible for Care Coordination Agreements completion and updates.

Additional Comments:

The Directors will have the ability to work from home and schedule hours with supervisor approval. Attachment 1 of this document outlines a breakout of specific day-to-day operational responsibilities the Director.

Education, Experience, Qualifications:

Must have Masters in a healthcare related field. Must possess at least two (2) years of professional program experience and at least five (5) years of community behavioral health management experience. Knowledge of BH evidenced based practices is preferred.
