988 Call Center Counselor   (Full Time)
Location: East Providence, RI

The 988 Crisis Call Center at BH Link is hiring professionals who are looking to make a positive impact on the lives of Rhode Island community members! The 988 Call Center is a crisis answering service that responds to calls, chats, and texts from individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use crises.

This call center is connected to the BH Link – The state’s walk-in behavioral health crisis center that serves Rhode Islanders statewide. As such, 988 Crisis Counselors can assist service recipients in facilitating entry to BH Link, to be seen in person by an experienced clinical team that provides comprehensive assessment and referral services. The 988 Crisis Call Center also coordinates with local mobile crisis response teams, dispatching available mobile crisis clinicians to the community in order to meet people where they are. The services provided emphasize client-centered care in the least restrictive possible settings.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

-Working on site at the 988 Call Center in East Providence.

- Answering calls, chats, and texts coming into the 988 Crisis Call Center, both through the 988 Lifeline and the 414-LINK line.

- Engaging callers with empathy and professionalism to effectively establish clinical rapport in a brief period.

- Routinely assessing for risk of suicidality (and other risks to safety) with callers experiencing mental health and/or substance use crises.

- Identifying best outcomes, including the coordination of wellness checks and/or the dispatch of mobile crisis response teams.

- Providing callers with resource and referral options as applicable.

- Completing all required documentation and data collection in a timely fashion.

-Coordinating directly with members of the BH Link clinical team as appropriate.

- Coordinating with 911 dispatch and local municipalities as appropriate.

- Documenting incident reports as necessary – notifying call center supervisors in the case of any critical incident.

- Attending required staff meetings and trainings.

 

Desired Skills:

- The ability to answer crisis calls, chats, and texts with empathy and composure.

- The capability of multitasking and transitioning between periods of low and high call/chat/text volume.

- Utilize supervision and take feedback in order to continually grow and improve as a crisis counselor.

- Strong communication skills that will lead to effective coordination of care both within and outside of the 988 Call Center.

- The ability to effectively navigate digital platforms (the 988 answering platform, resource databases, electronic health records, etc.).

- Multilingual staff are highly encouraged to apply.

 

Qualifications:

- Minimum high school equivalency required.

- 1-3 Years in the human services industry preferred.

ACT Vocational Specialist  (Full Time)

 The ACT Team is conducting a search for a full time Vocational Specialist to begin immediately. ACT is a program to help individuals avoid crisis situations and to keep crises from turning into unnecessary hospitalizations. The multidisciplinary team is designed to provide comprehensive community support to those individuals living in the community. The team works with individuals who are struggling with serious and persistent mental illness and co-occurring substance abuse disorders that may need more than the traditional outpatient mental health care and psychiatric rehabilitation services more intensive support.

As a Specialist you will focus on vocational assessment, job development, coaching, and engagement. Your role will also include creating treatment plans with clients, attending team meetings, and collaborating with community providers regarding clients’ needs. This position is looking for an individual who can work independently, but also as a team player! Prior experience in employment services is preferred. Also looking for a candidate who has previous experience working in the mental health or substance abuse field.

ACT- Team Leader  (Full Time)
Location: Woonsocket, RI

The Community Support and Recovery Services program here at Community Care Alliance is seeking a Team Leader to lead our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. The mission of this multidisciplinary team is to provide comprehensive community support to individuals experiencing serious and persistent mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders. The treatment needs of these individuals are often complex, and they require more intensive support than traditional outpatient mental health or psychiatric rehabilitation services. We are looking for candidates that have 2-3 years solid community based experience working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness, demonstrate leadership capabilities, excellent oral and written communication skills and are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment serving a population with complex bio-psychosocial needs. You must also have training and experience with providing supervision, case management, crisis intervention, advocacy, counseling, consultation, substance abuse treatment, health education and other supportive services.

 

On team ACT, Team Leaders are responsible for a variety of tasks, including

· Provide clinical oversight in evaluating client’s safety and clinical needs on an ongoing basis

· Provide training to supervisees in regards to their responsibilities and tasks, documentation requirements, and program policies and procedures

· Oversee ACT program operation service targets are met, health and wellness activities are implemented, and care coordination is facilitated

· Lead daily team meeting to organize day’s activities

 

Pay: Starting at $27 per hour, can increase depending on experience and qualification- RN starting at $44

Schedule: Full time, Monday – Friday, typically 8:30 – 5, but there is room for flexibility

Assurance 16 Community Coach-LIHEAP  (Full Time)

Our LIHEAP Department is searching for a Community Coach to conduct assessments for clients of the LIHEAP Program who are seeking assistance.  This will include long term monitoring of clients, providing energy conservation, financial education, and workforce development as needed.  Attend community events of various types in order to extend services through other social service agencies and community partners.  Maintaining relationships with collaborative partners and cultivating new ones. Responsible for collecting and analyzing data. Working with clients to educate individuals on becoming economically self-sufficient.  Offering supportive counseling and advocacy to clients and their families, providing resume building, how to conduct a job search, and best practice interviewing workshops.  We are looking for a strong advocate who is interested in supporting client’s efforts to have their voice heard and to help them obtain the services they need to help them become self-sufficient.

BH Link - Peer Recovery Specialist- Crisis Services (East Providence)  (Full Time)
Location: East Providence, RI

 

The BH Link is a 24/7 behavioral health crisis and triage center partnering Community Care Alliance and Horizon Health Partners.  The program is hiring a Peer Specialist to work full-time to provide support and assistance to clients of the BH Link, Crisis Center. They also will provide phone support, and accompany clients to post crisis center appointments when appropriate.  Good communication skills a must.  The Behavioral Health Link will provide Rhode Islander's with immediate assessment and referral services. The program is staffed by a multi-disciplinary team which consists of RN's, Psychiatry, master's level counselors, case managers, peer specialists and phone screeners. The program also operates a 24/7 suicide hotline as well. The mobile crisis unit is a program transit van which is available to crisis center staff to provide community home visits when needed. 

 

We prefer an applicant who has successfully completed and passed a Co-occurring Peer Specialist training program endorsed by BHDDH and possess (or be eligible for) IC/RC state certification (CPRS). We also will accept those who are actively working on their certification.

The BH Link is searching for enthusiastic professionals who are looking to make a positive impact in the Rhode Island community! The BH Link is a 24/7 triage facility providing assessment and referral services for adults experiencing mental health and/or substance use crises. Roles and Responsibilities:

 3. Major Responsibility: Serve as primary coordinator of various program databases.

 

Supporting Actions:

 

· Maintain required client contact as deemed by program/DHS.

· Maintain current and accurate record keeping for client files in accordance with standards of particular case management program, Medicaid, and accreditation where applicable.

· Utilize computer database systems to maintain appropriate information on clients, per program and agency requirements.

· Complete all paperwork associated with maintaining current client statistics.

· Ensure agency standards of care are met and in compliance with funders and others as required.

· To complete all paperwork required for data generation in a timely fashion as determined by Director.

 

 

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED:

· Bachelor’s degree or minimum of 2 years related experience preferred.

· Demonstrated case management skills and experience; emergency intervention methods, family dynamics, health, mental health and substance abuse systems; and knowledge of community resources.

· May require in the future a case management/community health worker certificate – must be willing to obtain certification if required.

· Bi-lingual highly preferred.

This position is based in a drop-in center for youth ages 12-24 from diverse backgrounds and experiences.  The liaison will work directly with the manager of our mobile crisis program manager to introduce the community to our new programs through outreach and engagement both via telephone and in person

The liaison will take the lead in outreaching organizations and individuals in the community who are hard to engage, unhoused, with health disparities, under- resourced, persons of color etc.

The liaison will be the point person for attendance at CCA and community meetings as well as represent CCA at relevant state meetings with the Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals.

 The liaison will develop and lead a client advisory board with CCA staff and community stakeholders as well as serve as the point person for interacting with veterans and active duty service members.

 Other responsibilities include data collection and reporting on activity related to care coordination in collaboration with CCA internal team.

 Education Requirements/Qualifications:

CCBHC Mobile Crisis Outreach Worker  (Full Time)

Community Care Alliance is seeking an outreach worker to work as a member of our 24/7 mobile crisis team. Clinician Co-Responder Mobile Crisis Clinician  (Per Diem)
Location: Various - Rhode Island

Community Care Alliance is looking for per-diem master’s level clinicians or RN’s / QMHP certification preferred, to work in its new program called the Co-Responder Program. The Co-Responder Program pairs law enforcement and behavioral health clinicians to intervene and respond to behavioral health-related calls for police service. These teams utilize the combined expertise of the officer and the behavioral health clinician to de-escalate situations and help link individuals with behavioral health issues to appropriate services. Additionally Co-Responders will conduct outreach and follow- up calls to individuals who have had police contact as a result of their behavioral health crisis. The Co-Responder clinician will be located at one of our local Police Departments in the Northern Rhode Island area.

Duties include mobile community crisis assessments and intervention in collaboration with local police departments and BH Link along with other mental health resources in the community; evaluation, disposition, and referral for all assessments; perform emergency certifications when necessary.

Evergreen, our assisted living program for adults who have experienced challenges living independently in the community, but do not need the 24-hour medical care that a nursing home provides, is in need of a per diem CNA/Med Tech. The Acute Stabilization Counselor is an integral part of our Acute Stabilization Unit (ASU) in Providence.  This crisis service and hospital diversion or step-down program provides a relaxing, protected and supervised non-hospital setting to individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use crises.  You will work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team providing individual supportive counseling, biopsychosocial assessments, and group treatment services to identified clients.  You will utilize holistic and evidence-based modalities and will receive extensive training in these areas. Data Entry Assistant 988  (Full Time)
Location: East Providence, RI

The 988 Call Center is a crisis call center that responds to calls, chats, and texts from individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use crises. This call center is connected to the BH Link – The state’s walk-in behavioral health crisis center that serves Rhode Islanders statewide. The services provided through the call center and walk-in center emphasize client-centered care in the least restrictive possible settings.

The 988 Data Entry Assistant will be responsible for call center quality improvement efforts. Individual will review contact documentation, identify trends in data collected, and recommend adjustments for adherence to funder and organization QA standards. The 988 Data Entry Assistant will work onsite at BH Link, 36hrs a week. This position will be reporting to 988 Call Center Manager.

· Roles and Responsibilities:

- Assemble data and prepare routine reports for distribution to relevant departments and funders/stakeholders.

- Monitor usage and advise on internal reporting tools for tracking of relevant contact details and performance metrics.

- Conduct regular review of contact logs and communicate findings to program supervisory staff to collaboratively ensure adherence to program standards of documentation and quality performance.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The FCCP is a family preservation program. Services are provided by community agencies and funded by DCYF. We provide service to any youth/family with child under the age of 18. Services are intended to address risk for involvement with DCYF or law enforcement. The program can assist with navigating services to address developmental, behavioral, and social problems, as well as families who are at risk for abuse or neglect.

The Youth Specific Family Support Partner acts as a peer mentor to youth and a support to families. As a member of the Wraparound team, this youth support partner will help them to navigate systems, access resources, and connect to natural supports. Candidates must have lived experience with youth services or equivalent youth related work.

This position is Youth Specific Support. For youth referred for Wayward or Youth Diversion, weekly contact with the youth is required. This support partner will mentor youth, spending time with youth building rapport, building skills or completing tasks to address needs and goals identified by the FCCP plan. Youth specific FSP would also coordinate with the Care Coordinator and other team members, especially parents, to address barriers and communication issues.

Assessment:

 • CASAS post-test must be administered after 40 hours of instruction, even if the student has exited the program.

• Formative assessments such as rubrics or summative assessments should be utilized after every lesson plan.

Healthy Transitions Supported Employment/Education Specialist  (Full Time)

 Seeking outgoing, energetic, and team-oriented professional to provide vocational and educational supports to Healthy Transitions participants living in Woonsocket, Lincoln, Cumberland, Burrillville, and North Smithfield.  The Supported Employment/ Education Specialist (SEES) plays a key role in the success of the team's Coordinated Specialty Care services for young people (ages 16-25) with significant mental health challenges.  As the SEES, you will assist participants with overcoming barriers to obtaining and maintaining employment.  You will also assist participants with meeting their educational goals, such as returning to high school, getting a GED, or applying to colleges and graduate schools. You will be co-located with the rest of the Healthy Transitions team, which includes a clinician, case manager, nurse, a psychiatrist, and a team leader/ clinical supervisor. You will also have access to direct support and supervision from other Vocational professionals within the agency.  You will have access to training in one or more Vocational services models, including Individual Placement and Support and Supporting Meaningful Employment/ ACRE Certification.  This position is not primarily office-based, as one key role of the SEES is to connect with local businesses and employers to develop employment opportunities for our participants.  With participants' consent, you will also continue to support these young people in the community as they adjust to their job, which increases their chance of becoming valuable, long-term employees. Kitchen Assistant/Backup Van Driver  (Part Time)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Kitchen Assistant supports a variety of needed functions in the kitchen, including washing dishes, filling invoices, putting deliveries away, cleaning and serving as a backup driver in the absence of the main driver. · You will need a cell phone that you can communicate with your supervisor or kitchen staff by call or text and should be able to access a map as the van does not have GPS capability.

· Heavy lifting is required for this position, along with a filled warming unit many boxes, cases of beverages are cumbersome, and some sites require several trips inside. You must be able to safely carry 70lbs onto a cart and be able to unload it at the destination.

· You must be able to push a loaded cart up ramps or carry boxes up steps.

· Hours for this position will be 8am – 1pm, Monday – Thursday unless main driver is absent then hours change to 7am – 1pm Monday – Friday.

· All sites need deliveries by 12 to accommodate mealtimes.

Preferred experience in community mental health services.  Candidate should demonstrate a high level of skills in engaging a range of clients, good clinical skills, general knowledge of psychotherapy techniques and modalities, and ability to work alongside a multi-disciplinary team.  The preferred candidate will provide direct services to identified populations which include screening, assessment, report/record keeping, counseling, crisis intervention, case management, consultation, referral, treatment planning and client education, aftercare planning, and relapse prevention in order to maintain and improve their level of functioning in the community.  Facilitate education/support and therapy groups as deemed appropriate.  Assess and evaluate all clients on an ongoing basis.  Develop, design and implement treatment goals/plan with clients.  Preference to experience with electronic health records.

Masters-Level Clinician  (Per Diem)

The BH Link is searching for enthusiastic clinicians and counselors who are looking to make a positive impact in the Rhode Island community! The BH Link provides an innovative 24/7 alternative to the emergency room for adults around RI who are in need of behavioral health crisis assessment and referral services. The role of the Masters-Level Clinician is to engage clients in clinical assessment and to assist in securing referrals by coordinating care with other local agencies and programs.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Available to cover clinical program needs on a regular or on-call basis.

- Help to assist all clients in navigating their current crisis and the behavioral healthcare system through consultation, assessment, and referral.

- Conduct mental status exam and client-centered clinical assessment.

- Determine appropriate diagnoses based on DSM-5.

- Apply proficiency with ASAM criteria to secure insurance authorizations on behalf of clients served.

- Engage in coordination of care to facilitate treatment and recovery connections on behalf of service recipients.

- Provide client centered referrals while also screening and assessing for risk factors that may impact the safety of the client or those around them.

- Secure and maintain QMHP credentials within the first quarter of employment (provided free of charge by CCA).

- Actively engage in solutions-focused referral processes that emphasize the least restrictive level of care possible.

-Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams both within and outside of the BH Link program.

- Coordinate insurance authorizations and care coordination with other behavioral healthcare providers.

Medication Room Technician  (Full Time)

An experienced Medication Room Technician is needed to work in our Community Support Program.  You will assist the nurses with medication reconciliation, pharmacy coordination, medication preparation for distribution, monitoring supplies, inventory and sample ordering.  Candidate must understand medical terminology especially related to process medications, adhere to HIPAA guidelines regarding privacy of client information, recognize and respond to environmental, interpersonal and liability risk situations with professionalism.  You will assume responsibility for preparation of medications for our Med Clinic and ensure that you communicate with team members regarding clients’ medication.  In this role you will also maintain the schedule of required labs for residential clients who are prescribed specific medications; document interactions with clients in their records; communicate with pharmacies, providers and other facilities as needed to confirm medication orders.  Individual must be highly organized, ability to multi-task and show a commitment to learning about and meeting the complex needs of the clients.

Education and Licensing Requirements:  Certification to practice as Certified Nurses’ Assistant and Medication Aide or LPN in Rhode Island.  2 years’ of experience as a Certified Medication Aide OR as an LPN.   Also will consider a Certified Medical Assistant.  Must have basic computer skills and experience with Electronic Health Records.

MOBILE CRISIS PROGRAM MANAGER  (Full Time)
Location: Various - Rhode Island

Community Care Alliance is seeking a Master’s Level Clinician or RN to manage our evolving mobile crisis team in the Northern RI area. The program manager will work alongside our existing Emergency Services team. The goal of this program is to provide people who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis within the northern RI area, rapid access to services. This team will work in collaboration with local police and fire departments, 988, CCA staff, and other organizations as applicable to provide assessments within the community and determine proper level of care.

The desired candidate should possess management skills, leadership skills, communication skills, self-motivation, organizational skills, and a desire to both establish and maintain a crisis team.

Responsibilities and duties of the program manager include but are not limited to-

· Hiring and training team members.

· Assist staff in conducting both office and community crisis assessments.

· Facilitate referrals to appropriate levels of care throughout the state

· Work in collaboration with CCA’s behavioral health liaison to both market and establish relationships with healthcare providers, community organizations, local police departments, and local fire departments/EMS personnel.

· Provide and coordinate with fire, police and first responders for the provision of triage and assessment services for individuals in the community experiencing a psychiatric crisis. Identify and develop diversion opportunities and/or hospitalization for identified persons.

· Complete coverage schedules on a monthly basis.

· Track data and submit reports related to services provided as required

· Participate in reviews of quality measures and client outcome data.

· Be available for after- telephone consultation as needed

 

Education Requirements/Qualifications:

Per Diem Clinician BH Link- East Providence  (Per Diem)

BHLink is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Per Diem Master’s Level Clinician. The BH Link provides an innovative 24/7 alternative to the emergency room for adults around RI who are in need of behavioral health crisis assessment and referral services.

The role of the Registered Nurse is to screen, assess, administer medication, and medically monitor clients of the BH Link.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Engage in screening and risk assessment processes to identify appropriate levels of care and crisis interventions.

- Assess and monitor the psychiatric and medical needs of clients referred to the BH Link.

- Provide assessment and crisis intervention to clients experiencing behavioral health issues.

- Administer medication per standing and/or prescriber orders.

- Complete documentation per BH Link protocols.

- Coordinate admissions with referral sources and engage in nurse-to-nurse communications.

- Administer detoxification protocols to include administration of CIWA and COW scales.

- Perform medication reconciliation reviews of medical record (MD order sheets match up with MAR).

- Coordinate service delivery with daytime and on-call psychiatric prescribers.
