988 Call Center Counselor  (Full Time)
Location: East Providence, RI

The 988 Crisis Call Center at BH Link is hiring professionals who are looking to make a positive impact on the lives of Rhode Island community members! The 988 Call Center is a crisis answering service that responds to calls, chats, and texts from individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use crises.

This call center is connected to the BH Link – The state’s walk-in behavioral health crisis center that serves Rhode Islanders statewide. As such, 988 Crisis Counselors can assist service recipients in facilitating entry to BH Link, to be seen in person by an experienced clinical team that provides comprehensive assessment and referral services. The 988 Crisis Call Center also coordinates with local mobile crisis response teams, dispatching available mobile crisis clinicians to the community in order to meet people where they are. The services provided emphasize client-centered care in the least restrictive possible settings.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Working on site at the 988 Call Center in East Providence.
  • Answering calls, chats, and texts coming into the 988 Crisis Call Center, both through the 988 Lifeline and the 414-LINK line.
  • Engaging callers with empathy and professionalism to effectively establish clinical rapport in a brief period.
  • Routinely assessing for risk of suicidality (and other risks to safety) with callers experiencing mental health and/or substance use crises.
  • Identifying best outcomes, including the coordination of wellness checks and/or the dispatch of mobile crisis response teams.
  • Providing callers with resource and referral options as applicable.
  • Completing all required documentation and data collection in a timely fashion.
  • Coordinating directly with members of the BH Link clinical team as appropriate.
  • Coordinating with 911 dispatch and local municipalities as appropriate.
  • Documenting incident reports as necessary – notifying call center supervisors in the case of any critical incident.
  • Attending required staff meetings and trainings.


Desired Skills:

  • The ability to answer crisis calls, chats, and texts with empathy and composure.
  • The capability of multitasking and transitioning between periods of low and high call/chat/text volume.
  • Utilize supervision and take feedback in order to continually grow and improve as a crisis counselor.
  • Strong communication skills that will lead to effective coordination of care both within and outside of the 988 Call Center.
  • The ability to effectively navigate digital platforms (the 988-answering platform, resource databases, electronic health records, etc.).
  • Multilingual staff are highly encouraged to apply.

988 Quality Improvement Assistant  (Full Time)
Location: East Providence, RI

The 988 Quality Improvement Assistant will be responsible for call center quality improvement efforts. Individual will review contact documentation, identify trends in data collected, and recommend adjustments for adherence to funder and organization QA standards. The 988 Quality Improvement Assistant will work onsite at BH Link, 36hrs a week. This position will be reporting to 988 Call Center Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assemble data and prepare routine reports for distribution to relevant departments and funders/stakeholders.
  • Monitor usage and advise on internal reporting tools for tracking of relevant contact details and performance metrics.
  • Conduct regular review of contact logs and communicate findings to program supervisory staff to collaboratively ensure adherence to program standards of documentation and quality performance.
  • Assist investigation of complaints/grievances in collaboration with program manager and data team.
  • Review call recordings to identify successes and areas for improvement in crisis call center interventions.
  • Assist program leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of PQI process and procedure.
  • Provide other administrative support to the BH Link’s 988 call center as needed.

Desired Skills:

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, emphasis on Microsoft Excel, Forms, Power Automate, and Power BI.

If you are a Masters Level Clinician, we have a position for you in our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT Program). You may play a large role in impacting the lives of adults experiencing severe mental illness and substance use issues. Within this program, we work alongside a Multi-disciplinary Team to assist clients in the community by providing individual, family and group counseling services. The role of the Masters level clinician on the Multi-disciplinary team is to help individuals maintain and improve their level of functioning in all aspects of their lives by educating clients, their families and significant others about significant issues such as: mental health, substance use and the impact of one upon the other.

Preferred experience in community mental health services. Candidate should demonstrate a high level of skills in engaging a range of clients, good clinical skills, general knowledge of psychotherapy techniques and modalities, and ability to work alongside a multi-disciplinary team. The preferred candidate will provide direct services to identified populations which include screening, assessment, report/record keeping, counseling, crisis intervention, case management, consultation, referral, treatment planning and client education, aftercare planning, and relapse prevention in order to maintain and improve their level of functioning in the community. Facilitate education/support and therapy groups as deemed appropriate. Assess and evaluate all clients on an ongoing basis. Develop, design and implement treatment goals/plan with clients. Preference to experience with electronic health records.

Education and Licensing Requirements: Master's degree in a human service-related field required. Masters Level Licensure required (LMHC, LCSW, LICSW, or other). Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license and insurance.

ACT Psych Rehab Specialist  (Full Time)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The PSRS's role within the multidisciplinary team is to provide psychosocial rehabilitation services to psychiatrically disabled adults and their families, primarily in the community, to promote community integration and assist clients in achieving their recovery goals through case management, independent living and social skills training, social support and network enhancement, and access to leisure activities. Individual and group services are provided to develop, enhance, and retain skills and competencies in the areas of living, learning, working, and socializing. Through participation in the development and implementation of individualized Recovery Plans, PSRS will monitor and track the progress of clients on assigned caseloads.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in psych rehab, psychology, social work, or other human services related field.
  • One year of experience in community mental health preferred.
  • Valid license, clean driving record, reliable vehicle and auto insurance required.
  • Employee will assume full responsibilities for the cost and efforts of maintaining any and all forms of licensure, certification and credentialing documentation as required in their job description or sited on any Action Form as a qualification for hiring, job promotion, or monetary increase. Subsequently, the employee will adhere to the credentialing requirements of all insurance/funding sources for which they qualify and provide Human Resources and/or the Credentialing Specialist with the initial required documentation (licenses, liability insurance policies, DEA numbers etc.) and all renewals of these documents.

OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Demonstrates competency in clinical, technical and/or administrative skills, procedures, methods, and tools required to perform the job successfully.
  • Regularly available for work, reliable and on time for all things scheduled.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and written.
  • Competently and consistently completes work accurately and thoroughly and in a timely manner.
  • Self-starter works with minimal supervision, and as part of a multidisciplinary team, and constantly seek new/better ways to organize/complete tasks.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • 75% of services are delivered in the community; this includes home visits when appropriate.
  • Clients transportation is required.
  • One evening shift per week (until 6:30 pm), one weekend shift per month, rotating holiday shifts.

The adult outpatient program is seeking to hire qualified counselors/clinicians to provide individual therapy to adults with mental health, substance use and co-occurring disorders. The program works with individuals 18 years and older who are interested in improving their quality of life through engaging in meaningful therapy sessions with caring provides who are able to utilize various evidence-based practices to meet clients where they are. Clinicians/counselors will work with individuals to decrease problematic symptomology, take back control of their life and improve their outlook on the future.

In addition to individual therapy, the counselor/clinician will be responsible for: completing session notes within 48 hours of service, completing treatment plans every 6 months, providing crisis management and referring clients to various community resources that will further help them improve their quality of life.

The ideal candidate has previous experience working/interning in the fields of mental health and/or addiction, is able to function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team as well as work autonomously and has a sincere desire to help the people we serve.

Recent graduates looking to work towards licensure will receive weekly individual and group supervision. CCA also offers regular trainings, free of charge, that count towards CEUs.

The BH Link is searching for enthusiastic clinicians and counselors who are looking to make a positive impact in the Rhode Island community! The BH Link provides an innovative 24/7 alternative to the emergency room for adults around RI who are in need of behavioral health crisis assessment and referral services. The role of the Masters-Level Clinician is to engage clients in clinical assessment and to assist in securing referrals by coordinating care with other local agencies and programs.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Available to cover clinical program needs on a regular or on-call basis.
  • Help to assist all clients in navigating their current crisis and the behavioral healthcare system through consultation, assessment, and referral.
  • Conduct mental status exam and client-centered clinical assessment.
  • Determine appropriate diagnoses based on DSM-5.
  • Apply proficiency with ASAM criteria to secure insurance authorizations on behalf of clients served.
  • Engage in coordination of care to facilitate treatment and recovery connections on behalf of service recipients.

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Assess and monitor the psychiatric and medical needs of clients referred to the BH Link.
  • Provide assessment and crisis intervention to clients experiencing behavioral health issues.
  • Administer medication per standing and/or prescriber orders.
  • Complete documentation per BH Link protocols.
  • Coordinate admissions with referral sources.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • RN required.

The BH Link is searching for a skilled Program Assistant who is excited to support our mission and growth! The BH Link provides an innovative 24/7 alternative to the emergency room for adults around RI who are in need of behavioral health crisis assessment and referral services. The program also houses RIs 988 Lifeline Call Center whose counselors answer statewide calls, chats, and texts around the clock, offering crisis stabilization and support to all ages.

The role of the Program Assistant is to provide administrative support to Rhode Islands BH Link walk-in triage center and 988 Lifeline crisis call center, contributing to a positive program culture while helping to streamline effective administrative processes.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Representing the BH Link and 988 programs in relevant agency committees.
  • Coordinating with maintenance and IT departments to submit necessary tickets.
  • Track appliance upkeep and other routine facilitys needs.

CCBHC Mobile Crisis Peer Specialist (Full time , Part time or Per Diem)

Community Care Alliance is seeking a certified peer specialist to work as a member of our 24/7 mobile crisis team. The certified peer specialist will work with a team consisting of a clinician, RN, case manager and community mental health worker and assist individuals who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis. This team responds to crises in the community and assists individuals with immediate access to an assessment and services. The role of the Peer Specialist is to interact with individuals seen and provide a bridge between providers and adults experiencing mental health and/or substance use issues.

The certified peer specialist should be an individual who has lived experience with substance abuse, a behavioral disorder or a mental health disorder who has made progress in their own recovery and has completed specialized training qualifying them to help others in their recovery. This individual should be comfortable honoring multiple pathways to recovery. The Peer Specialist will work as part of a team when providing crisis level of care. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work and communicate effectively and serve as a role model for peers, providing them with coping skills and connecting them to resources in the community. The ideal candidate will be readily able to engage in active supervision and be practice positive and healthy self-care.

Community Care Alliance is seeking a Registered Nurse to be a part of our evolving 24/7 crisis team in the Northern RI area. The goal if this program is to provide 24/7 coverage to support people who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis, with emphasis on crisis stabilization and connecting them to immediate services. The RN will primarily work during the days/early evenings (if needed) alongside the program manager and team providing both crisis and nursing assessments.

Part time, days/early evenings. No weekends

Responsibilities and duties of the registered nurse include but are not limited to:

  • Complete crisis assessments in the community and refer individuals to the appropriate level of care.
  • Monitoring medication administer injections and manage medications supplies.
  • Provide mental health and substance use education to clients.
  • Care Coordination with community providers and CCA prescribers/staff.
  • Complete all required documentation, including assessments, recovery plans, and reports.
  • Attendance at required meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned, including back up coverage for other programs if needed.

Education Requirements:

RN or BSN with Behavioral Health experience, QMHP preferred, but will train, ability to work independently and as part of a team, ability to make quick decisions and dispositions re the needs of individuals incrisis.

CCBHC Mobile Crisis Worker  (Per Diem)
Location: Woonsocket, RI

 CCBHC Mobile Crisis Worker Per-Diem/On-Call

Community Care Alliance is looking for a per-diem staff to work in a new cutting edge program responding to crisis in the surrounding community. In this position you would have the opportunity to be working with an innovative team including, the program director, law enforcement and first responders, clinicians, case managers, peer specialists and community mental health workers. This type of community based crisis triage is the new frontier of responding to mental health and substance use crises. This rapid response team would be an elite team of individuals working collaboratively with the intent to manage a crisis in the community, provide rapid resources for stabilization and to develop community connections with the intent to decrease the need for an emergency room intervention and an inpatient admission.

Flexible schedule, days, may include evenings and some weekend coverage.

This is a 24/7 program. As such, shifts will be offered for multiple days and times. Certain shifts will be based in our Woonsocket location, with mobile outreach: rate of pay highly competitive and is commensurate to skills and experience.

Overnight shifts are on-call: these will be paid at a flat hourly rate of $8/hour for time spent remote, plus a fee of $75-100 per community-based assessment based on credentials. Per Diem applicants should be available for at least 2 shifts per month. 

This schedule is desirable for professionals looking for supplementary income.

Consistent enhancement of supervisory skills is required via supervisory training within and outside of CCA.

Clinician Co-Responder Mobile Crisis Clinician  (Per Diem)
Location: Various - Rhode Island

Community Care Alliance is looking for per-diem masters level clinicians or RNs / QMHP certification preferred, to work in its new program called the Co-Responder Program. The Co-Responder Program pairs law enforcement and behavioral health clinicians to intervene and respond to behavioral health-related calls for police service. These teams utilize the combined expertise of the officer and the behavioral health clinician to de-escalate situations and help link individuals with behavioral health issues to appropriate services. Additionally, Co-Responders will conduct outreach and follow- up calls to individuals who have had police contact as a result of their behavioral health crisis. The Co-Responder clinician will be located at one of our local Police Departments in the Northern Rhode Island area.

Duties includemobile community crisis assessments and intervention in collaboration with local police departments and BH Link along with other mental health resources in the community; evaluation, disposition, and referral for all assessments; perform emergency certifications when necessary.

This position has flexible hours with availability seven days a week. Weekday hours are in the evening/ Saturday and Sunday hours areflexible.

Must have excellent crisis intervention skills and a minimum of 1 year employment in community mental health, CSU, or an inpatient psychiatric setting. Ability to diagnose using DSM 5 criteria. Employee must have valid driverslicense.

This type of community based crisis triage is the new frontier of responding to mental health and substance use crises. This rapid response team would be an elite team of individuals working collaboratively with the intent to manage a crisis in the community, provide rapid resources for stabilization and to develop community connections with the intent to decrease the need for an emergency room intervention and an inpatient admission.

Education /Licensing requirements/ skills: MA/RN with experience in behavioral health, will train for the Qualified Mental Health Professional license needed to complete emergency certifications. JOB DESCRIPTION:
Conducts the Healthy Families America family assessment with families to determine eligibility for home visitation services.   • Maintains agency and funding source client privacy and program confidentiality standards.
  • Participate in required training and home visitation network meetings.
  • Collaborate with community partners as needed to achieve family and program goals.
  • Demonstrate cooperative, flexible and positive human relations, treating consumers and colleagues with dignity and respect.
  • Maintains family census in accordance with HFA guidelines - prorated for part-time staff as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned and requested by the Clinical Supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of direct service experience with families with young children.
  • Must have the ability to provide services in the homes of various clients.

Licensed Practical Nurse Acute Services  (Seasonal Employee)
Location: Providence,RI

ASU Providence Temporary Psychiatric LPN / RN(14 weeks, 36 hour week)

Pay rate:$37/hr

Position Summary:

Our Acute Stabilization Unit (ASU) in Providence, RI is seeking a temporary LPN or RN to provide direct care services. This position is for a maximum of 13 weeks to begin in late August or early September. Responsibilities include medication administration, coordination with local pharmacies, implementing and administering detoxification protocols, ordering supplies in coordination with other RNs, documenting in the health record, and, for RNs only, conducting nursing assessments on all new admissions.

An ideal candidate will coordinate care effectively in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team. LPN/RN will access on-call psychiatry and NP services when needed. The ASU is a trauma-informed, client-centered care unit providing diversion and stepdown treatment for clients experiencing behavioral health crisis.

Education and Training Required:

Active Rhode Island LPN or RN license.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and administering medication.

  • Completing SA withdrawal flow sheets.

The Adult Outpatient Program is seeking to hire a Licensed Chemical Dependency Professional or an individual with a Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling with extensive work in the field of addictions to provide individual counseling to adults struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders. The counselor will be expected to provide assessment, diagnosis, relapse prevention skills, psychoeducation and referrals to higher levels of care through use of Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy treatment modalities.

In addition to individual therapy, the counselor will be responsible for: completing session notes within 48 hours of service, completing treatment plans every 6 months, providing crisis management and referring clients to various community resources that will further help them improve their quality of life.

The ideal candidate has previous experience working/interning in the fields of mental health and/or addiction, is able to function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team as well as work autonomously and has a sincere desire to help the people we serve.

Weekly individual and group supervision is offered. CCA also offers regular trainings, free of charge, that count towards CEUs.

POSITION SUMMARY:

To provide a bridge between providers and adults with serious mental illness. Peer Specialists will assist in facilitating the care and well-being of adults receiving services while working on a multidisciplinary team. In addition, have maintained, within the last three (3) years, at least 12 months of successful full or part time paid or voluntary work experience (not necessarily consecutive) or one-year post-secondary education experience totaling 24 credit hours. Provide peer support to our homeless, housing unstable, substance use, and recovery clients in our Safe Haven drop-in center. The Residential Case Manager will provide a safe, stable space for those clients with mental health challenges to help them achieve personal goals and improve quality of life. An ideal candidate will work with clients to help them develop social and daily living skills and work to address their needs.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides case management services to residents in accordance with the client's individual treatment plan, goals, philosophy, and standards defined by the agency.
  • Continually assesses and evaluates clients, providing support services, crisis intervention, medication monitoring and education on as-needed basis.
  • As a Case Manager you will educate clients, their families and significant others regarding mental health issues, substance abuse and the impact on their lives.
  • Facilitates referrals to primary health care providers and specialty care providers (health and behavioral health) in the community as well as within the agency and provide support as necessary. 

 

Education/ License Requirements: 

  • Associate's Degree in Human Services with some experience is a requirement; BA/BS is preferred.

Residential Treatment Worker -Jellison House (Johnston)  (Part Time)
Location: Johnston, RI

Jellison House, our men's residential program in Johnston, RI is looking for a Residential Treatment Worker to work on a part-time basis. The 90-day men's residential substance use treatment program works closely with the courts, probation and parole officers and other treatment providers to coordinate continuity of care.  This program will also provide basic living skills, relapse prevention and daily psycho-educational groups.  Mainly the Treatment Worker will provide ongoing support services and/or crisis intervention, assist clients in medication monitoring/education and facilitating activities with clients, which enhance the quality of living within the residence. The substance use residential nurse will provide consultation and direct support to two 16-bed programs: Wilson House (Pawtucket) and Jellison House (Johnston). Each of these sites offers trauma-informed, person-centered, and evidence-based substance use disorder treatment for up to 90 days. We promote recovery in safe, home-like environments with an emphasis on building strong treatment communities. The RN is an integral member of an interdisciplinary team that together offers counseling, psychoeducational groups, holistic and mindfulness-based stress reduction, life skills, medication management, care coordination, family support, and more. 

Specifically, the RN will deliver quality care by:

  • Assessing and monitoring clients for behavioral health or medical symptoms in collaboration with the clinical team.
  • Reconciling and documenting medication regiments following admissions or medication changes.
  • Providing support and education for clients and staff on the impact of substance use and co-occurring disorders on health and wellness.
  • Collaborating with referral sources, external providers, and other agency departments as indicated.
  • Assisting in safety planning and crisis assessment and support when needed.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Transportation Specialist Supervised Visitation and Support Center  (Full Time)

The Northern Rhode Island Visitation Center serves families whose children are to have supervised visits in a home-like setting while receiving support in their recovery. The Transportation Specialist provides transportation to and from supervised visits with biological families for children in out-of-home placements. Youth and Adolescent Clinical Coordinator  (Full Time)
Location: Woonsocket, RI

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated co-occurring clinical coordinator. This individual will be working closely with youth ages 12-25 and their families and will be coordinating with community partners to increase access to services available for adolescents. The goal of this program is to screen, assess, and coordinate care for youth at risk for substance use disorders and who are currently experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions.

Job Duties:

  • Actively engage clients and family members in the therapeutic process utilizing a variety of strategies at the youth center and in community settings.
  • Provide individual counseling utilizing a variety of interventions e.g. motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy and stages of change to address youth and family needs.
  • Assist in the development of therapeutic groups for youth and family members that promote health and wellness including mental health, self-esteem building, co-occurring conditions, and substance use.
  • Participate in marketing and promotional events to promote the program, increase enrollment, and provide education related to substance use and recovery.
  • Provide training to staff as needed around therapeutic interventions and trauma informed care.
  • Provide care coordination between providers in various settings to improve youth and family participation and engagement.
  • Assess clients on an ongoing basis, provide support services and crisis intervention as needed.
