Applications Engineer, Asia
Spirol is seeking an Application Engineer for Spirol Asia based out of our Shanghai office. The candidate will train in our Connecticut facility for 12-18 months, and then permanently relocate to our Shanghai location. The successful candidate will also be considered on the management fast-track for our Asia Operation, and should take on significant management responsibilites within 3-5 years. This is a significant career opportunity for the right candidate.
Recommended Qualifications: BS Engineering, preferably Mechanical focus. Some Mandarin Chinese proficiency preferred (we will provide training).

Quality Engineer
The Quality Engineer is responsible for maintaining, implementing and improving SPIROL's Quality Program through execution of the following: Development and conduction of training to establish a knowledge base; Hands-on use of tools with the purpose of spreading knowledge through execution, while at the same time, generating improvements to process or situations; Facilitate the SPC program, practices and systems, along with their effectiveness; Taking responsibility for Gage R&R procedures, practices and systems, along with their effectiveness; Serving as CAR system coordinator, assisting Managers with root cause analysis and corrective/preventative action development.
Recommended Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field, Possess a working knowledge of ISO 9000/TS 16949 Quality System standard, Ability to communicate effectively at every level of organization, Analytical ability and creativity in areas of problem-solving and group dynamics with a high degree of initative, and Laboratory experience including metallurgical knowledge is preferred.

The Operations Manager is responsible for planning and direct line management of all Manufacturing/Operational units at the Company's CT headquarters. The Operator is responsible for the inspection of products being produced to assure conformance to all specifications and workmanship standards. The primary responsibility of the Operator is to take care of all operational aspects of department assigned, including stripping tooling from previous jobs, preparing machine for set-up, locating and moving material, in-process and last piece inspections, SPC data entry, and performing minor resets.

CT Machinist (Full Time) - Connecticut
Machinist-2nd Shift (7.5% Shift Differential)
The primary function of a machinist is to be able to produce parts from prints and sketches while working to close tolerances. Experience required with both standard and CNC machine shop equipment including lathes, grinders, band saws, drill presses and wire machines. Produce parts within the established time standards. Perform continual inspection on all parts during its manufacturing process. Accurately use all different types of measuring equipment such as scales, calipers, beveled protractors, micrometers, dial indicators, and comparator to inspect work and ensure no defective parts. Promote continuous improvement by taking the initiative to identify issues and provide solutions with the goal of reducing cost and improving performance.
Recommended Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent, and classroom or on-the-job training in environmental management including hazardous waste management. Basic geometry and trigonometry. Ability to use all types of measuring equipment. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Two to three years machine shop experience.

CT Heat Treat (Full Time) - Connecticut
Heat Treat - 3rd Shift (15% Shift Differential)
This position is directly responsible for heat treating products as assigned in compliance with all respective procedures. This includes monitoring all aspects of the process, i.e. zone temperatures, chute speeds, belt speeds, base hardness, final hardness etc. Knowledge of quench oil through hardening process required. Familiarity with safed, american gas furnace and surface combustion equipment a plus. Will consider previous experience with case hardening, austempering, and vacuum heat treating. The Heat Treater is responsible for checking and recording the hardness of the product, and insuring that the product is heat treated to specifications. The Heat Treater will also be responsible for assigned periodic maintenance tasks and may be required to perform Finishing and Sorting functions as directed. It will be the direct responsibility of the Heat Treater to operate the equipment in compliance with OSHA requirements and monitor and perform functions to ensure EPA and DEP compliance.
Recommended Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. High mechanical aptitude and mathematical proficiency.

Set-Up Mechanic Multi-Spindle Automatic Screw Machines
As a Set Up Mechanic, you are responsible for the production of quality parts per the established part layouts, perform first piece, in-process and last piece inspections, and record SPC data at required intervals. Machine repair and maintenance may also be assigned.
Recommended Qualifications: Prior experience with multi spindle screw machines in a continuous improvement environment, ability to interpret blueprints, and to accurately use precision measuring instruments and gages is required.
